my 6 yr old and I were watching the episode of the orginal TF series with all the fem bots (he likes the original better than the garbage out now!! good boy!) and he was asking me what all the names of the fembots were. I caught a few: Firestar (wasn't she one of Spiderman's Amazing Friends?), Moonracer, Chromia, Elita 1. There had to be at least a dozen of them in that episode. Anyone know the names of the rest? It'd be nice if some 3rd party did a run of those. Would look good with the classics, methinks. bucket
There were only two more, and they didn't get names, just like the Rainmakers...tho like the Rainmakers, maybe someone somewhere has given them fan names. --Moony
The green one and the purple/orange one weren't given names in the show, but a few years ago TFCC published the prose story "Flames of Yesterday" which gave them the names "Greenlight" and "Lancer" respectively. I too would like toys of the Female Autobots, preferably with altered robot modes so that they look like they actually transform into something. I think it'd be tricky otherwise. Heh, I can see it now: "New MOONRACER action figure transforms from naked mechanical lady into inexplicably boxy vehicle and back! Don't ask how, wizards did it!"
Actually it's true in a way. Television has always been the "vast wasteland" but it has arguably gotten worse in recent years, not better.
I too would like to see updated versions of the Autofemmes. an idea i had once upon a time, was such: ever since energon arcee has been a motorcycle, which works, a smaller vehicle becoming a smaller more petite robot. my gripe is that its always the same type of motorcycle, the streetbike. (or ninja bikes as i've heard them called) my solution? introduce more femmebots (Elita 1 and company) that transform into different types of motorcycle. I could see Elita 1 as a harley davidson road cruiser with a sidecar. Chromia as a chopper. Moon racer as a Cam am (one of them fancy three wheeled bike like dotm backfire) and Firestar as a dirt bike.
Or better....Strap-On. BA-GING! Anywhom, I don't think many of them had names. I think Glyph is there somewhere, but I could be lying to myself...
ugh---dunno I can't fathom an all fem-bot biker gang. gotta be some variety in there somewhere. ok 3rd party folks---get to work! get us some fem-bots!! bucket
Not all fembots have to be bikes. Likewise, not all fembots have to be smaller and skinnier than the guys. Of course, I think it'd be awesome if someone like Firestar was still a big ol' truck, was still proportionately slender in her robot mode, but was the size of Optimus Prime to account for all the mass.
