In this thread you put your top 3 favorite wreckers characters with each continuity you enjoy them in and a explanation of why you like them.

Springer g1, idw , and marvel: springer imo is more a leader then Rodimus an you can connect with the character in stories like sins of the wreckers , last stand of the wreckers, and requiem of the wreckers.

Whirl idw, marvel, cyberverse: i love whirl and his psychotic personality even though continuities like cyberverse and rescue bots academy didn’t have I still love them and his backstory in idw is kinda of tragic left a job he barely liked to work at a job he is good at only for the the functionist council to tear it all down and force him to become what he is now and cyberverse is the first tv series to have him in a g1 accurate form and he is just sooooo cute.

Rack n ruin marvel, idw , cyberverse: though not much to say about this character I still like them cyberverse was my introduction to the concept of rack n ruin and I really fell in love with Him in the comics I like his backstory in idw and character in the marvel comics.

springer g1 idw marvel: cool and badass leader, would make an excellent prime imo

impactor idw marvel: i love the idea of war criminals in the autobot ranks and impactor is just a sympathetic yet grey character.

whirl idw: i dont remember marvel uk whirl having much of a personality but idw whirl was crazy and yet a broken character which i adore. his friendship with cyclonus is also cool

My favorite Wreckers would have to be Sandstorm, Broadside and Roadbuster.

I know a lot of people would say Springer, but personally, I never really liked him as a character. So yeah, he is kinda like BW Silverbolt for me: a character that a lot of people seems to be fond of, but is incredibly boring and/or irritating to me.

Springer G1, Idw, Marvel. Especially in The Wreckers stories. He is good character on there. The second is Sandstorm.

I haven't gotten to any Wreckers portions of the comics yet, so, I don't really have anything to go on story-wise on that front. My only exposure to the Wreckers in media are Bulkhead and Jackie in TFP...and I loved them both. In fact, it's because of TFP that I'm a Bulkhead fan. TFP spawned one of my favorite TF quotes, "Wreckers don't call for backup...they call for
    CLEANUP!".

IDW Whirl. One of the high points of More Than Meets the Eye.

IDW Rotorstorm. I liked his sense of humour. His G1 toy is great. I really want to see him in a future version of the franchise where he kills Overlord.

Sandstorm. I liked him on the G1 cartoon. In his tech specs, he strikes me as the Wreckers answer to Hot Rod. His tech specs give him an intelligence of 9 which puts him in the same bracket as Prowl.

I feel Springer and Impactor are overrated though at least Springer's voice actor made him likeable. As a kid I didn't like him moving on Hot Rod's girl Arcee and he was a whiner in the Marvel UK comic.

Broadside needs a decent toy with a head based on his animation model rather than the boring visor and faceplate of the toys.

I agree about Springer. Although I felt he was one of the better new characters in the movie, when season three came around, it just didn't amount to anything and just showed how much personality the other characters lacked in the movie (I honestly couldn't relate to Hot Rod and Kup until I watched season three), 'cause all the movie characters got better characterization in season three whereas Springer remained bland (though I guess just the voice performance kinda gave him an advantage in the movie due to me not liking the celebrity performances, but that's all I can give him).

In fact, I can assuredly say that I actually prefer Broadside as a character than Springer. I kinda liked how he was a friendly sailor-type in Thief in the Night and a somewhat vain and egocentric guy in Carnage in C-Minor, though I do wish they had played more on his seasickness as well as his fear of heights.

I always thought that the Springer and Arcee romance was meant to be reminiscent of the romance between Han and Leia, since it's pretty clear that Springer, Arcee, and Hot Rod were based on Han, Leia, and Luke respectively. That's also why I sort of see Hot Rod and Arcee having a brother/sister kind of dynamic because of this, but that's not really the dynamic that their profiles implied.

I honestly do kinda wish they had kept the original Hot Rod/Arcee dynamic. I kinda liked it more than the Springer/Arcee dynamic (which always had that feel of a rushed afterthought).

Heck, in Space Pirates, the Rodimus/Arcee interactions really made the story for me. Then again, that might be because I always felt Hot Rod/Rodimus was a more compelling character than Springer, so there was a sort of spark to his interactions with Arcee which her interactions with Springer really lacked.

Again, I have lots of problems with Springer as a character, because he is just bland and kinda boring.

Idw whirl > every other wrecker ever.

He can literally claim to be a personal friend of primus and be the bot who both created Megatron and inspired his journey into violence. Can any other wrecker make such amazing claims?

I completely agree with this. I'm fine with the Wreckers getting new recruits. Their mortality rate wouldn't be too great but these are the original guys for me.

That is kind of difficult when the main series I enjoy them in doesn't even really have three Wreckers who appear on screen. The majority of the members are either killed off screen or only appear in other media so I'm not really all that familiar with them. I can go through the roster on TFWiki but honestly there's really only one I actually care about. Wheeljack from Transformers Prime.

Bulkhead: While he's more of a main character being there from the start of the series and even making a guest appearance at the end of RID2015 I never really liked him that much.

Fisitron: Don't know anything about him.

Hot Shot: So clicking on the link from the Wreckers page takes me to the page for Rescue Bots Hot Shot, which shares a page with the toy only character from Transformers Prime. First off... Wheeljack tells us that no other Wreckers are even still alive and nothing in Rescue Bots had indicated that Hot Shot was ever a member. So I question if his inclusion here is even canon.

Impactor: I like his design but really know nothing about the character.

Jetfire: I don't know where it was said that he was a Wrecker but OK.

Kup: Cranky old man like in G1 I'm assuming.

Miko: Was made an honorary Wrecker during Prime but I hate her and she's human so I don't think she really counts.

Moonracer: She doesn't get a lot of character development in general. I mean she always seems to be in the shadow of some other fembots. She's been around just as long as Chromia and Elita-One but I still can't remember who she is.

    Pyro: Don't know.

Rack n' Ruin: Actually loved these guys in Cyberverse and they're apparently part of the original Wreckers line up but I don't think Cyberverse ever established that there even was a Wreckers team.

Roadbuster: I like his design, he actually looks like he could be a Wrecker all on his own. But I don't know anything about him.

Hot Rod/Rodimus Prime: I've actually always really liked this guy but never really seen him established as a Wrecker in anything.

    Rotorstorm: Don't know.

Ruination: The combined form of the FoC Wreckers which I own and I love the figures but they are toy only characters so I don't care about them as much as I would someone who I actually seen in fiction. Side note, I don't actually own a figure of my favorite Wrecker...

Seaspray: I wish this guy had actually been in the cartoon instead of basically killed off camera. I mean his ship was blown up on camera but we never saw any sign of him. I'm a sucker for anyone with an aquatic vehicle mode but sadly we'll never know what Prime Seaspray actually would of been like.

Springer: Have never really cared for him to be honest... Maybe because I thought Arcee worked better with Hot Rod...

Topspin: His name confuses me. The only Topspin I've found that actually seems to fit the name is a Decepticon component of Nexus Prime.

Twintwist: Don't know enough about him.

Ultra Magnus: Now technically he isn't actually a Wrecker... it's established in the show that the Wreckers got their mission assignments from him but he wasn't one of them himself. I think in other continuities Ultra Magnus was a proper member as well as their leader but here that is not the case. So it's questionable why he's even been included.

Whirl: My LEAST favorite of all the Wreckers. I look at him, I just see Shockwave. Oddly enough the first time I'm actually seeing Whirl show up in cartoons there's TWO of them... at the same time. And Cyberverse isn't doing anything to make me like him... though I appreciate that his personality is clearly different from Shockwave that mono-eye design still screams "I'M SHOCKWAVE!" I actually really like Rescue Bots Whirl though... oddly unlike Hot Shot, the wiki does not imply that RB Whirl is the same Whirl that's suppose to be on the Wreckers... and dead... but honestly I would not object if Wreckers Whirl were more like RB Whirl since she's the only version I actually like.

And that takes me to Wheeljack.

In most continuities Wheeljack is the crazy inventor guy and this Wheeljack... was actually someone else for the majority of his first episode... and then when we finally meet the real Wheeljack he's a lot like BW Depth Charge or RID2001 Ultra Magnus... which is funny since he hates Ultra Magnus in this series... but I enjoyed the different take on the character, I think he actually developed over time to be less of a loner unlike those other two, and Miko who I freaking hated in that series was even a lot more tolerable whenever she was partnered with Wheeljack. It's also kind of impressive how his back story was given to us. We never saw it but it wasn't really an exposition dump either. Whatever information we needed to know was delivered in a very natural way that felt like real interactions those characters would have.

I actually agree with all of this.

As for Hot Rod being a Wrecker, there was that ol' 3H comic that took place in the future (the one with the spider Arcee). Can't remember much about it, only that he was commanding officer and they got one of those nice interaction moments:

Tie between Verity Carlo and Whirl.

Whirl would be first but, y'know, war crimes.
    Heh. Heh heh.
