what your favorite? For me minicons cause we got another Transformer toy out of it and they were fun to combine with the larger guys.

Minicons for the same reason. Never liked the power-linking, and the keys were too easy to misplace.

I always liked the mini-cons themselves and the idea of two transformers combining, but the cyber key gimmick always felt less obtrusive to me when it came to how they affected the actual figures.

Cyber Keys, because the gimmicks were better hidden and didn't interfere with the overall figure designs as badly as Mini-Cons did. Powerlinx comes in as a close second, because I thoroughly enjoy stack-style combiners and power-up combinations.

I agree with Hot Shot. The gimmicks were just better on the figures in my opinion... And some of my favorite gimmicks from those lines weren't even activated with minicons/keys... As stupid as it is I always loved Armada Scavenger's stomping gimmick XD

Minicons, no question, and not even close, imo.

Cyber Keys were the least obtrusive, but Mini-Cons were infinitely more fun. Powerlinking was a neat idea, but it was for the most part executed very poorly. I don't think any of the toys looked any good combined together.

Of those three, Minicons, and just because they were actual toys as opposed to the gimmicks they activated. Otherwise, I'd go with the flip out weaponry built into the Energon Decepticons.

Never was a huge fan of UT as a whole but something about the cyber key gimmick always reminded me of the G1 Triggermasters who were some of my favorite basic sized figures...so l got say cyber planet keys...

Minicons since you got an extra figure. However, I hated the gimmick of needing them to activate the feature. Would have rather there just be ports for them but no action feature attached to it.

Keys. Having a collection of them is just rad.

Also, all you really ever need is one key to activate pretty much every toy.

    Minicons, easily.

And the best example of Minicon interaction was Armada Cyclonus and the Destruction/Adventure teams. With him he had an existing Minicon gimmick that almost gave him a new helicopter mode, but then the combination of the rotors to driving the spinning features of the added Minicons on his belly was total genius.

If we were to give a favourite of our chosen gimmick, Armada Cyclonus would be my pick.

Minicons are great because they're usable without their accompanying Transformer.

Cyber Keys are great because they weren't intrusive (mostly).

    So, um...I guess Minicons.
