It's a combination of three sets, the Dark-ism set which I'm embarrassed to say was a bit spendy, $35 shipped for the head. Then I bought BDT Sets as well. If I were to do it again, I'd skip the BDT head with the purple pieces I have attached to his legs and just get the swords and the Dark-ism head, but I ordered that before I knew about the Dark-ism set.

The Dark-ism head does look better. Mandarake a trustworthy vendor?

Day 8: I skipped this guy when he came out. My disposable income was a lot lower 10 years ago, and I already had a Lugnut... the actual Lugnut, from the show, not some weird G1 port. Why would I ever need two of the same character?

Look, it's a collecting journey, we all go on it.

Anyway, I did pick him up later, and god, what a phenomenal toy. And such a great example of how good a design can be when the animation model is used as a starting point, not an end point (coughs loudly at current lines). Looks like he should be impossible to balance because of all the mass on tiny legs and thin toes, but you can practically throw him into a standing position.

Went back in time for a bit, today with Armada "Bendy Prime":

    IMG_20210915_181203.jpg
    IMG_20210915_181329.jpg

I got mine last year initially for an Armada Optimus Prime in my collection while waiting for that awesome-looking Takara LG-EX Armada Convoy prototype to come out... that unfortunately never got developed beyond its "grey-scale prototype" stage. So, this figure is still here to stay.

I'll admit, I had a certain bias with this design so that may cloud my judgement... but my god, this is a genuinely good figure and I find myself messing with mine quite a lot ever since I got it last year. This figure I find to be a lot of fun to play with, with the intuitive transformation, good articulation that still holds up even to this day, a cool [ack-in Minicon that can also become a gun-weapon for Optimus, been based on the awesome "Armada Optimus Prime" rugged design, a somewhat silly but endearing mini-con activated gimmick that didn't compromise the figure in any way makes this one of the most memorable experiences I had with a Transformers toy last year.

He does have a few weird flaws though, including the way the hips are molded limits the forward motion to around 40 degrees at best just OOB (Which luckily, can be fixed if you don't mind doing some "surgery"). The head sculpt could also be a bit more dynamic and mean-looking, and I also wish that the figure just came included with Armada OP's signature Ion Blaster (Like the one included with the Superbase-class toy with the infamous "Superpants", but scaled down) straight OOB (The Ion Blaster that my Bendy Prime was wielding was a custom 3D-printed blaster designed by myself)

    IMG_20210915_181439.jpg

But aside from these few minor flaws, Armada "Bendy Prime" is one awesome figure.
