My favorite today (and my most recent purchase) is my customized SS86 Jazz. I've wanted to do an emergency-deco version of Jazz for some time, but didn't want to paint up my pricey MakeToys Downbeat in order to do it. Enter the more affordable SS86 Jazz, which I honestly thought looked rather plain anyway. The deco is obviously inspired by G1 Red Alert, and I think I've settled on the name "Dispatch", with a function of "Search and Rescue". Obvious mods are the trimmed "ears", light bar, and rifle-turned-pistol, but beyond that it's just paint and stickers. I chose to leave the doors open in robot mode for more differentiation.

Anyway, enjoy (or not!). I'm just having fun with what's available!

It just occurred to me with the inclusion of WFC Sideswipe and Sunstreaker that I now have almost the entire original ‘84 Autobot lineup. I think I’m just missing Gears, Cliffjumper, Prowl, and Trailbreaker. I have the Combiner Wars and T30 versions of the latter two, but they don’t really fit this aesthetic. (Even Legends Brawn is pushing it, being shorter than Bumblebee.) Really wish I hadn’t missed out on any of the WFC versions of Cliff, Prowl, and Trailbreaker now that I realize how close I am to the full set. Also, Gears really needs and updated toy.

Day 9! I've always adored Beast Hunters Abominus, and in particular, the Blight mold. A while ago, for reasons that escape me, I made it my mission to get every single deco, but only if I could do so for cheap. Since there was a full set of Japanese decos, and a couple European ones, that was a challenge! But I managed, I don't think I paid more than like $7 for any individual guy.



But the particular favorite among them is Rot Gut.



1) Hard to find deco, so there's a sense of satisfaction
2) Later I would move to Europe, so it would have been easier to find him, providing a nice sense of dramatic irony
3) Bright green and glossy black, nice color scheme
4) Easily repurposed as a background MTMTE guy
5) Weapon held in beast mode like a little pipe
