Brainstorm today. This figure is seriously underrated, he has one of the best TF sculpts of all time, right up there with T30 Springer.

I always considered Sandstorm the superior mold.. but I've always been intrigued by Brainstorm, though I cannot recall ever seeing it in stores around me at the time... even the smaller TR version wasn't common, if even released around here as I never saw it.

But as I know that the TR version was just a remold of Blur (which I do consider very nice), I have always been on the fence about it...

And tonight, thanks to your picture, I decided to take a longer look at the 30th generation one... and during this drought, revisited my interest in him, which has been on my mind for a few years, but never pushing that button.

yadi yada ... etc... yeah yeah yeah..long story short, I now have one on it's way which should arrive in the next week.

Thankfully, he's actually not too bad to find at an acceptable price on eBay from collectors (opened but complete with box).

Don't besmirch the Siege name! That is clearly no tetrajet... ;)
It's weird you call it the Sandstorm mould, most folks would think of it as the Springer mould, clearly you have other preferences, not wrong, just... Unusual. :D

That Brainstorm really is killer. I'll post a pic of mine one of these days, was waiting to get a briefcase printed but with all the global crap going on who knows when that will happen.

Speaking of Sandstorm... I really shouldn't have posted Blitzwing yesterday because T30 Sandstorm has been my office mate for realsies.
    Here's his killer dune buggy.

His bot mode is a joy but his alt-mode is best not paid too much attention to.

The only two customs I've ever done. In both cases, very simple stuff, just putting black paint on places it was already clearly meant to go before a budget cut, but whatever man, leave me my pride

I always preferred Sandstorm to Springer myself and that was the first mold to give him a more cartoon accurate head without the faceplate. I regret parting with a few years ago but needs must.

    Today's favourite is Siege Shockwave...

    20200512_171948.jpg 20200512_171131.jpg 20200512_171049.jpg

He's a perfectly good representation of the character but I find I don't give him much attention. The colour scheme is kind of dull and all the molded detail removes the smooth look of previous versions.

The extra arms from the armour are a nice idea but giving him one hand and three of the same gun hand is kind of boring. Making them interchangeable like the old Gi Joe BAT figure with extra attachments like a claw would have livened the toy up.

I'm not trying to be negative just articulating (to myself) why he hasn't grabbed me like the Masterpiece or G1 Actionmaster, the latter had a great colour scheme. The Legend homage to the Actionmaster wasn't quite right to me.
