I did indeed.
His proportions look so messed up and fat in this picture. Idk what they did with Siege Prime...but it isnt great.
Only this past weekend did I pluck that team from storage and they really are great as individuals. The vibrant green really elevates them above the Build Team.
Nice post. I was never a fan of Optimus Prime growing up but I did have the toy and it is great. Only thing I didn't like was the head with the creepy yellow optics unbefitting of the main hero.
Thankfully, a year and a half ago, I finally picked up the Device Label toy with the screen accurate head sculpt and it really enhanced the figure for me. It's a shame none of the subsequent releases of the toy didn't use that head.
The truck and trailer are timeless and in 36 years, no Optimus Prime toy since has captured the magic. Earthrise looks very disappointing because the trailer looks too far off the ground with a large space that takes away from the aesthetic.
In my headcanon, COG stands for the acronym "Coordinated Operation Grunt-unit". It's not the best use of an acronym, but it at least makes a bit more sense that whatever "MECH" or "CYLAS" means.
That aside, Siege COG (Coordinated Operation Grunt-unit) for today.
Earthrise Hoist! I painted the green parts of the rear wheels silver and used a Molotow Chrome marker on the inside of the headlights and turn signals. Thinking of painting up the taillights a bit. That being said, this guy is fantastic! Can't wait to get Trailbreaker!
potp hun-gurr (note not my pic)
Today's installment of 'if you hate 1988 then you hate this country*'
*country may vary from region to region.
Takara Legends Topspin and Peacemaker. The Takara version of this figure fixes every complaint I had about the standard release, and gives him a nice little targetmaster buddy to boot. I absolutely adore his paint scheme/color breakup, and his head sculpt is beautiful.
This slick bot today, Oil Pan
Botcon Skyquake today...
A pair of tiny tanks. They are tiny! They are tanks!
All the best
My favorite version of Nemesis.
Such a beauty.
It's Day 2 of The Great Cybertronian Write Off! @Sixo @Maz and myself are posting mini-reviews of G1 toys in vintage G1 Transformers UK paperwork style, each day whilst we're all in lockdown. @tikgnat did an astonishing job with all the design work for this and I can't quite convey how excited I am to be part of it.
Today it's my first contribution and it's the evil leader of the Decepticons, who is so ready to fire off at the universe that he turns into a gun - it's Megatron! #GCWO
