Another little bit more Prime Wars wonder; the Clones and Punch/Counterpunch.

Despite being a G1 comics junkie, I totally fell in love with all these guys due to their brief, but rather memorable, appearance in 'The Rebirth'.
There's a part of me that is still really amazed that we got such faithful renditions of these dudes. Pricey to complete, but worth the entry fee, I think.

I have no connection to Skybite, but for some reason I really like this little Cyberverse figure.
It helps that his gun arm is 5mm compatible:

I had literally zero interest in the Cyberverse line until I saw him. He is just so much fun! Ive since picked up Cheetor, and Jetfire as well! Love that the gimmick isn't part of the figure!

So rare in my minds recollection of them here in the UK, exotic and to me at least a Japanese manga feel to their concept and characterisations.

Does an update of an obscure G1 character deserve to be this cool? Because it is. Let's be honest, that's been the charm of the recent lines like Titans Return and Siege. Great updates of lesser known Transformers like Cutthroat, Quake and Brainstorm.

Maybe I'm biased as my brother had Cutthroat when we were kids.

"You should have seen the one that got away. It was this big!"

    "I'm Batman!"

    "Flasher!!"

I'm going with the French-manufactured Ceji variant G1 Dirge I got this week. Cool black plastic wheels and hard plastic nosecone instead of the usual silver wheels and rubber nose!

Another 'retool squad' that got done so well in yer 'Prime Wars' trilogy.
Much like the Decepticon Targetmasters, the retooling makes it feel like these three really are their own little unit (and like the clones, they're a costly unti to complete) and they're all the better for it. There's so much loving attention to detail in these three, particularly with Grotesque, that it does feel like someone had a burning desire to update their favourite toys from '87. And they're so niche! I think I value these so highly because it's hard to imagine them getting another pass anytime soon.
