My favorite is simple, but I usually don't mind semi-complicated.

 

Anything but the movieverse aesthetic. Worst character designs ever.

 

The live action movie character designs are not my cup of tea either. I think they're the only Transformers toy line that I never bought any of, too.

 

I meant to pick semi complicated but I have ape hands and picked simple. My preferred aesthetic detail level is Beast Wars. Detailed, but not needlessly complicated.

 

Yeah, Beast Wars tends to hit a sweet spot in a lot of ways.

I liked Beast Wars in terms of story but I disliked the animal heads on the robot modes like Waspinator and Silverbolt.

I really hated Rattraps buckteeth on his robot face.

G1 is my preferred aesthetics. I don't like Prime's no nose aesthetic and I hate designs like Bulkhead and Movie Starscream. Oh and anything with hair.

 

Something close to the Classics look for me, blocky and simple, but full of enough greebling (tiny details meant to make a design look more complex) that they don't come across as too boxy or plain. I'm not a fan of Animated's caricature-like designs or Prime and the movies angular and sharp look. IDW was ok in its earlier days, but everything after "The Death of Optimus Prime" is just ugly IMO.

 

A hybrid of Munetaka Abe's animation style and the MTMTE aesthetic.

 

I can't choose since I like them all, so I'm going with this.
