The fact that G1 Wheelie's entire bio is done in rhyme. That's just straight-up impressive to me.

 

While I'm over most of their jokes, the one on the Optimus Prime disambiguation page makes me smile.

Iguanus (BW) - Transformers Wiki

Iguanus not actually being an Iguana is the most hilarious thing to me.

 

For me it has to be a quote on IDW 2007's Hot Rod's photo. "Hot Rod craves the salty taste of human flesh. Or at least, that's what Don's new art style makes it look like."

 

I just love the wiki's utter disdain for B.O.T., the entire wiki page is just written with a sort of passive-aggressiveness that tickles me. The last two quotes on the trivia page in particular are pretty good:

• This was the last episode of season two. Can you imagine if this was the last episode of The Transformers ever?
• Good God, I need a stiff drink.

I really love the TFWiki. The jokes don't hit as hard for me as they did when I was a kid and still new to it, but the wiki refusing to take the same dull and drab approach with a silly concept like large, brightly-colored robots who turn into cars and planes as any other wiki is part of how I view the franchise as a whole. It's not supposed to be this somber and grim series you give serious consideration, it will always be a franchise spawned from a 22-minute commercial of a cartoon at the end of the day.

 

And not only is it very funny and witty IMHO, but it's also incredibly exhaustive and informative. There's just so much info there. I honestly rate it as one of the best, if not THE best fandom wiki out there.

 

Same. You come for the jokes, but you stay for the stupid amount of information. I can't think of a single Transformers concept that's not been cataloged in some form on that website.

While I am not a fan of them making constant jokes (which mostly miss) on the wiki, I will admit the B.O.T. article does give me some chuckles.

 

Exhaustive and informative? A lot of the time yeah, 'very funny' and 'witty'? Hard no.

Most people don't go to a wiki to read a bunch of lame references, attempts at humor or the opinions of the people maintaining it. There's way better fandom wiki's out there, I believe you'll find.

As for funniest jokes? Probably gonna have to go with Willis as a person, he's basically the closest thing Transformers has to a Lolcow. But some of his friends are pretty fuckin' close as well. I had someone on this very site (who apparently wrote the page for Universe Shadow Striker) get really mad at me when I was talking shit about Cyberverse Shadow Striker.     If he decides to poke his head in, be nice.

 

The really good one have already been mentioned. I personally love the witty humor, totally understand those that don't, I just do. I also like some of the comments they make as well. Like how Energon Rodimus did the flaming truck before Optimus, and the like. If any wiki writers read this post, I thank and appreciate your work.

 

Seriously though, I'm not some joyless buzzkill that has no sense of humor. There's a few comments on the site that land even now, but at the end of the day the entire point of a wiki is to be as unbiased, factual and well... easy to read as possible. Some pages are really difficult to decipher because of a joke, and that's a problem when the entire point of a wiki is to be easily understood. There are also often times when the opinion of whoever is managing the page is super apparent when no one asked for their input.

The "ruined forever" page is just cancerous, plain and simple and it annoys me when people use the existence of that page as an argument for anything. Then of course there's at least one recent example of staff on Tfwiki actually refusing to do as much coverage of a TF series because it had elements they found disagreeable, which is kind of a serious problem when the entire point of a wiki is to archive anything and everything related to a show / movie / franchise regardless of how you personally feel about them.

It feels kinda awkward saying this stuff because it should be obvious but it seems like Tfwiki missed the memo. :/
