If there's already a thread like this, please merge-I hate to look like an asshole that didn't look things up, lol. Personally, while I loved Lockdown for his cruelty and Drift for Ken Watanabe's VERY dignified performance, oddly enough I enjoyed Crosshairs the most. He was a complete and total dick-AND I FUCKING LOVED THAT. I'm sick of these goody-two-shoes Autobots who are willing to sacrifice everything for humanity, they give me diabetes. I loved seeing an Autobot who just loved to blow shit up and say a ton of funny lines. Also, he chews on a toothpick. Drive is my favorite movie, and you have no idea how hard it was to contain my excitement in the theater when I saw that little detail. What about you guys? Who did you like most in the movie, human or Cybertronian?
Crosshairs was a character I really liked. His personality was quite enjoyable. But overall my favorite character has to be Lockdown. I can find no real flaw with his character, he does nothing dorky, he got great characterization, his intentions were clear, and he looked awesome! Aside from being the best villain we have had in the TF movies (in my opinion anyway) I'd go as far as to say he was the best character in the movies so far, period! My only two complaints were that I didn't like his voice all that much and...well if you've seen the movie's end you know what I am talking about.
Coming from the IDW comics, I was most looking forward to Drift and I was very surprised they kept his personality (if not his looks) intact in the movie. Definitely my favourite character, by far! Especially considering Drift is the only Autobot smart enough to have a flying alt mode. Triple-changer ahoy! But I gotta say, Crosshairs is my favourite new Starscream. <3 His design was very eye-catching before I saw the movie, and thankfully he had an awesome personality to go with his looks!
Fueled by the lust for revenge on behalf of his former self, and having manipulated from behind the scenes the events that led to his rebirth, Galvatron - Megatron reborn - dukes it out with his archnemesis - his murderer - Optimus Prime. His new body a far improvement upon that of his previous incarnation, his greatest enemy takes a step back for every blow he delivers, forcing the Autobot leader to go for what would be a killing-strike - a stab into his core, but it is to no avail; the core is void, a mere cavity, a rotating generator of power - a reactor. Upon realization of the reborn Decepticon leader's lack of a Spark - the life-force of Transformers, Optimus exclaims, 'You have no soul!' In a creepy voice, eerily similar to but distinct from that of the more brutish Megatron, Galvatron declares, 'That is why I have no fear.' Swinging Optimus into the air, he yells 'You die!'
Crosshairs. Which is surprising since he was the character I least cared for going in to the movie. Something about his rebellious "lone wolf" attitude was appealing as an autobot character and the design was definitely cool. Lockdown was also a great villain. It's too bad they killed him off because he truly projected imminent death anytime he was near Optimus.
Lockdown was easily my favorite villain, but Crosshairs is my favorite Autobot. Galvatron has now replaced Lockdown simply becuase of the line he said at the end of the movie. He is Megatron reborn.
Lockdown stole my heart because of his Gunface. Drift was someone I never expected to like as much. He's a typical badass samurai for sure, but he manages to skirt around the stoic and withdrawn samurai archetype by being such an idiot half the time. Overall, I can say I genuinely enjoy the antics and actions of the Autobot cast this time. Each of them just ooze personality.
Hound. Classic one liners. Highly memorable. Great gun fight. Respect for his boss... gotta love him. I'd love to say Grimlock as well (there was so much potential there with him), but the problem was his character didn't really get an outing ... he was just a convenient plot device and toothy snarling horse for Optimus.
