G1 Megatron and his later form Super Megatron. With Armada Megatron coming in second.
I would LOVE a "de-animated" version (like, more CHUG-styled) of Animated Megatron. I think a helicopter is the ideal altmode for Megs.
I quite like IDW's Stealth Bomber Megatron and his current body in the comics, myself.
You mean like a G1-ish Animated Megatron? (Even though he's already very G1-ish)
Animated Megatron has the power and majesty that a good Megatron design should have.
I have a soft spot for Armada Megs and G2 Megs, though. Green & purplr tank modes clearly suit him!
Yeah, like, the design of Megatron from TF Animated, but without the hideous Teen Titans Go! styling.
Here's an example of what I mean: Animated's Ultra Magnus design without the hideous styling.

So without the best part of the show? The thing that gave it its own identity and worked so well in giving the character expression and personality?
Synonyms do wonders for making a point.
That Magnus is okay, kinda boring TBH, but it would look better if it had a more unified colourscheme, and some hideous Teen Titans style. Then it'd be perfect!
Yeah, I liked everything about Animated except the art style. Nauseating.
Welp, it's a subjective matter anyway.
But don't call it "Teen Titans Go art" because it's not the same artist. Derrick J Wyatt did the art for the original Teen Titans cartoon, not the "Go!" bastardization.
I'd be interested in an entire line like that, I might even go full-collector on it. Animated had some great ideas on remaking old characters, and some cool new characters as well. Unfortunately, I really don't like the Animated aesthetic.
I love Armada Megs' stag horns too much. I have to admit i love BWII Megastorm (which i constitute as a megatron no matter what anyone else says) and his stupid eyeliner and cute little dino horn.
Armada Megs' stag horns were a bold design decision, very anime, and I was happily surprised to see them -- and see them accepted. I do with they'd been used as capture claws in tank mode in the cartoon, but oh well.
IDW Megatron Origins and IDW's versions
The TLK design is high up there in any case
Prime because it fit the character perfectly, Armada Megatron because he looked like a guy who could conquer planets with a smile. The best is TLK Megatron because look at that masterpiece. No other explanation needed.
I always thought G1 Super Megatron looked like he was wearing a giant metal diaper. They went way overboard.
IDW Megs from the Chaos event, with the sweet armour
Armada is the most bad ass of them all.
2) IDW Don Figueroa
3) WFC 2010
G1 is the worst in my opinion. Mostly because he transforms into a gun that's most commonly held by the guy who openly said he wanted to kill Megatron in the first episode.
BW ever since someone pointed out he has the same color scheme as Barney I can't look at him the same way again.
TM I still don't understand the purpose of those fans on his butt.
TM2 cool but not the best.
Control Harness, useless robot mode since he can't even really fight in that thing.
Optimal, cool but not the best... I still want a toy though.
RID is my favorite. With all the different modes he can transform into this is just a really fun toy to play with.
Armada, why does he have antlers?
Energon, looks like Galvatron. I like it but why even call this Megatron?
Cybertron, I like the Unicron armor but he kinda looks like the Bat mobile.
TLK Better but still NO!
Animated Cybertron Mode How many times do I have to say NO!
Animated Earth Mode one of the best designs in the series but not the best Megatron.
Prime Still NO!
Cyberverse, I like it but not the best. And Prime Wars was basically the same thing in a different art style. They're both G1 looking robots ho transform into tanks... though Prime Wars also has an impossible gun mode for some reason considering the toy he's based on isn't designed to do that.
