I have to say, largely on nostalgia, I think the Stunticons are my favorite combiner team. Despite having the silliest name, the least convincing backstory, and a leader figure that makes the limbs look small enough to be digits, I have always just loved their overall aesthetic. They're basically a nihilistic group of disturbed, pissed off thugs who are muscle cars and a tough ass truck. They're sort of the outcast outlaws of the Decepticons.

For my least favorite, I have to admit I thought the Predacons were kinda lame. But that's just because I've never been one to care for beasty altmodes.

Mainly because of their team dynamics, its so much more interesting to see how a team who basically barely tolerate each other, work together.

There's no comparing the impact of seeing Devastator for very first time on the old cartoon, so he'd be my pic. Superion at a close second since he was the first good-guy combiner, and he had an awesome intro.

 

My favorite team is the Aerialbots, They're what I call "Death from Above". If they want to, they can fly above the Decepticons and drop everything they have that goes Ka-boom and/or turns into a giant mushroom cloud.

 

I generally like all the combiner teams, they've all got something about them that I like, especially 'toy mystique' for most because I've only had G2 Devastator, Superion, and Bruticus.

Though I don't dislike the Combaticons, I never understood their (what seems like) mass appeal. Maybe I need to watch those late S2 eps again but they were never as cool as the others to me. Any insight anyone? I know they're "Starscream's Brigade" and overall 'Con badasses, but I always thought that role was much better filled out by the Predacons in the fiction.
