G1, WFC/FOC, IDW as far as fictional portrayals. And this is going to get me some blowback, but I like the Universe Ironhide design and would love to see it appear in fiction somewhere.
Animated, Bayverse and Prime. I wish more Ironhide incarnations had Animated's power of turning into Colossus to get better armor.

Somewhat. I do detest Animated, and Ironhide isn't even the worst thing, but the thought of a robot turning from metal to metal is pretty stupid. X-Transformers-Men was just completely unnecessary.
Did you not think about the fact that maybe it's a MUCH stronger metal compared to the one his armor is made of? Hence the name Ironhide? Anyway, we're getting off-topic. The discussion of Animated Ironhide's ability being dumb is a topic for another day.
It this: G1 by way of EJ Su. Very impressed that he combined the G1 van 'look' with a new and more practical alt-mode by having the windscreen come down to cover the bonnet of the van.
Never liked G1 Ironhide's alt mode. I mean really? A crappy van for somebody that's supposed to be tough guy? Didn't buy it when I was kid, still don't.
