i don't know the name of the film; but it was one of those stop motion films. it starred a bunch of random creatures, and they had all gathered around, where a man, who basically looks like a wizard, Or god. has called to order a council. he then, tells them about the life of santa claus. From small boy, to the jolly old man. They basically are trying to decide whether or not to make santa immortal, so he can continue all of his good work, or let him die naturally, of his old age. i really loved this film, i've only seen it a few times though. and i have never seen it sold in stores.

I believe the one you're talking about is called The Life and Adventures of Santa Claus. It was based on a book by L. Frank Baum, the author most famous for writing The Wonderful Wizard of Oz which is then adapted to the 1939 film we all know and love even as of today. The special was released on DVD in 2009 though it also contained the special known as Nestor, The Long-Eared Christmas Donkey. I hope it helps.
that sounds about right, thank you! plus, after a quick search, YAY! Jim Cummings is in it! he's always great! and nestor is fun... on rifftrax! edit: after further searching; there is apparently also an Anime adaption of this; called Shōnen Santa no Daibôken, interesting. and possibly a new animated film in the works too! oh my; Earl Hammond, the voice of Mummra, from thundercats is in this, and he USES the mummra voice! LOL! epic! He also plays santa claus. along with two other characters. along with Earle Hyman, who voiced Panthro. i found the movie on youtube. pretty epic. the sound track sounds like something out of the lord of the rings animated toons.
