To go with the thread, which is your favorite?

Mine is Black Ops II, due it being so damn fun to play. And the acting is great. Feels more like then any other COD.

Only respond if you like the franchise.

CoD1 was the only good game of the series. It has all been downhill since. CoD2 would have been good, but it ran like crap for its time on PC. I kinda want to revisit it though.

Considering the fact COD4 literally redefined an entire genre it did something right.

But it made the genre worse. Much much worse.

It really didn't. It made the online components for practically all games better (it was the annualization that ruined it, not the game itself). Calling it a bad game is silly.

How? The perk systems are amazingly annoying and leads to preorder/DLC bullshittery by publishers. And the weightless, twitchy, autoaim gameplay itself just plain feels boring. It feels like you're playing in some sort of weird vacuum. It basically popularized bad things for shooters.

It didn't do it though. And honestly, out of all games out there, COD doesn't do a lot of preorder bullshit by comparison.

As for weightless and twitchy, hey, you've described Quake too (at least in my opinion. Whenever I played it for the first time it felt like a super twitchy Halo to me). Autoaim is bullshit, sure, but COD4 wasn't the first to implement it. It took all that stuff and made a fantastic game out of it all before it was all overused.

I haven't played the first 3. I voted Black Ops, because I played it a lot with friends. They're all pretty much the same, to me.

I highly dislike the series today and think it total junk with no innovation. I like modern warfare because it was innovative. It is the game that made the modern day fps craze happen. It also sadly brought no innovation after it. Ever cod since 4 is just 4. whateverwe are at. The series is dying and you can see that ghosts isn't doing well seeing that the game is easy to find on sale for 29.99 not even a year after release while every other game was at full price until the next one came out. Also seeing that advanced warfare is just titanfall without the titans in a cod game. It also has the Neversoft curse on it. Any game made by neversoft starts out amazing and then crashes and burns like Tony Hawk Skatebording or Guitar Hero.

Never played a single CoD game, but the Advanced Warfare one looks pretty sweet to me. Call of Duty: Elysium, sign me up.
