Exactly what the title says. Which is your first and second favorite Aerialbot, G1 or CW, and why? Mine is Air Raid. I love his colors, especially in jet mode, I loved that he turned into an F-15 Eagle in G1 and I like that his CW version turns into a modified F-14 Tomcat, which are two of my favorite fighter jets. Second favorite would be Slingshot/ Quickslinger. I like 'em all, though!
We noticed Back in the Day Air Raid or Skydive were my fave Peghead Planes, but since CW gave us a new look at these guys it's been the unlovable asshole of the team: They even did his head in Braggart Orange!
Silverbolt & Alpha Bravo, I love new characters being brought into G1 after the 80s which is why I like Alpha Bravo. But Silverbolt has always been the standout of the Aerialbots to me as he's only one of two I know any personality about. Slingshot is actually one of my least favorite Transformers of all time, even more when Wheelie.
Slingshot and Skydive for me--although I greatly prefer the G1 toy look with the Beachhead-esque balaclava style face plate for Skydive to the toon/CW (which I like, just not as much).
Skydive and Alpha Bravo. I truly love these two. Skydive's F-16 Fighting Falcon is my favorite fighter jet, unassuming but capable, and I like his character as a someone who is fascinated by war history and learns from it to help him in his role as tactician, and is the most skilled flier of the team but also very humble. His colorscheme is also really calming, lots of warm gray with some professional black and just a little red, I think it actually visually communicates the energy he has really well. I have nothing deep to say about Alpha Bravo. Still tied for my favorite Aerialbot though. He's just badass. Slingshot would be third, but still below the top two by a bit.
Skydive for me. I love the look of Air Raid, especially since he transforms from a mostly black jet to a dominantly white robot. And his colours pop. (And recently I noticed that the G1 toy design is very much based on a seeker, most notably the chest and knees). But that was all I really liked about him. Skydive is an F-16 and the local Air Force flies those jets so I was very familiar with them. I also really like how his colours are distinct from the other Aerialbots, while still matching. But best of all was his bio: he's a historian who prefers to read about battles over fighting them, yet at the same time he's an excellent aerial strategist and the best flyer of the team. He's simply the smartest and most skilled member of the Aerialbots yet prefers to stay in the library and read. (If you didn't need Silverbolt to form Superion, I simply would ignore Silverbolt and make Skydive the team leader.)
