Looks like Bette and Joan have kissed and made up. The Rock WILL Return for Fast 9, Calls Truce with Vin Diesel
I heard about this a week or so ago.. and of course they did. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ I can't believe it's gonna be 9... I stopped watching after Tokyo Drift.
What exactly WAS their feud? From what I've heard, the supposed feud was something the media completely blew up while the actors themselves are totally unaware.
Multiple people behind the scenes said it was due to Johnson getting fed up and then outright pissed at Diesel (and Scott Eastwood) constantly being late to set and delaying shoots. Supposedly it was a slow burn of frustration, then Johnson finally called him out on it, and Diesel more or less said "whatever, it's MY franchise and I'll come & go as I please", which caused Johnson's "working with pussies" Twitter statement that made the feud public. But that's ALL that was ever said. Johnson has never publicly stated what the issue was about, and Diesel downplayed that there ever was one. Which is all expected. I don't know what is or isn't true, but personally, I think Johnson was in the right here IF this was the actual case. Everyone across the board has said the guy is next level sweet & professional and works his ass off, so it makes sense he'd get pissed at anyone pulling diva behavior around him.
Vin Diesel is a self destructive guy. He's right that it is his franchise, but he has to understand that there are probably very few people on the planet who do not like Rock at least 10x more than they do Diesel. Storywise, it's Vin's show, but just in an enjoying movies way, I'd much rather lose Vin than Rock, if it came down to it. Especially when Rock is coming off like a total professional and Diesel is coming off like a crybaby prima dona.
Yeah, agreed on all points. It's funny, I've actually been smirking whenever I see several of these TV commercials for F8 putting Johnson front & center and Diesel not even being shown at all. The marketing guys behind this know what's up and who the real draw is.
So, is it going to be in space? Because that seems like the most logical (after a fashion) direction for it to take.
Nah, that'll be for the final 10th one called "The Last of the Furious". They go to space to save the Earth from a world ending asteroid with Bruce Willis, but everyone dies except Dom, making him the last. And he'll be furious about it. Obvs. The next 9th one is when they travel back in time, appropriately titled "The Past and the Furious"... where they ride pimped out dinosaurs with laser beams speeding around the globe hoping to reverse time so they can bring Paul Walker back. While also inexplicably fighting criminals. Dino criminals. True story.
I'm all for it. Think of the jumps you could pull off in Moon gravity. It will be this series' Moonraker. Bring it on. I would watch this as well.
I understand that F&F is Diesel's franchise, but Scott Eastwood has no excuse. All he has is a last name, and he's nowhere near the same level as his old man.
I can see it now- Tricked out Mars Rovers racing over red mountains. When they hit the NAS, they'll blast off into space.
It's weird, I had no idea Tyrese was such a little pre-teen dramaqueen until he completely went off (online, of course... where they all do now) on Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham about them doing their own spinoff movie a month or two ago. Then this idiocy again yesterday. This twit does realize that he has no career to speak of outside of this awful never ending shite franchise, yeah? I mean, he doesn't even have that other embarrassing Bay driven one to fall back to anymore. I *dare* the guy to walk away from his one & only gig, haha.
Tyrese needs to get over himself. Spin-offs are a part of big franchises nowadays whether you like them or not. It's nothing personal. It's just business. So, he needs to shut up and stop acting like a big man-baby.
