damn it. These upgrades make the US versions look like $1 store knock-offs.

 

What is with the chrome on everything? I think I may pass on all except the Megatron.

 

I love all the Chrome. Reminds me of G1 toys.

 

Convoy's chrome grille and bumper are so nice. And faction symbols FTW.

 

Exactlly thats why i like the chrome brings back nosalgia. Stacscreams cannons can be put on his arms. Man these are all so much better.

 

Grimlock and Mirage are the only two that appeal to me compared to North American Classics.

Prime = not different enough
BB, SS = look too simple and bland now, esp. BB looks worse
Megs = colours-wise he still looks terrible imo, mainly cuz of the red and how it clashes with the purple. I think he almost looks worse than the pre-school version (such an eye-sore).

 

These are all great, but I've already "fixed" (ie. repainted) most of mine to look as good as these, if not better (in my opinion). I still welcome them though because you can never have too many Transformers.

 

Starscream, Bumblebee, Prime, and Mirage just aren't better per se than the original releases. Sure, they're different, but being different and Japanese does not necessarily mean better.

Megatron is a nice repaint, though I really did not mind the update to G1 Megs via Classics. Grimlock is a stark improvement. Hopefully his shoulders are fixed now too.

 

This looks like the same artist from the Robotmasters booklets. I like Starscream and Megatron on page 4 a LOT. I wish the null rays were remolded to look like that.

 

So, how much will these be (in US$), and what online stores will import them over (to the US)?

 

they look good, but not different enough to warrant buying them again.

 

I think the US Classics versions looked better. But Mirage will be mine.

 

I might pick up Starscream just for the closer-to-G1 paint job and Grimlock if the shoulder are actually fixed. Other than that, I think I'm unimpressed enough to let my bank account off the hook with these.

Man, I've always thought of Transformers as all-American, so it's so darn weird reading them spout Japanese... They're not that different from the original characters, but still!

i dont think the shoulders are fixed. last picture we got of him, they didnt look any different. i pass on all. i like the us ones better.

 

BBTS has Prime and Megs listed at $44.99 and the other four at $24.99. I haven't checked around to see if that's going to be the standard, yet.

 

The chrome does not go well with Grimlock's beast mode. The rest look really good, though BumbleBee and Starscream's decos are pretty boring

 

I hope I can just get that promo book...

 

I'm really hating the chrome on these guys - especially Grimlock's. I think I'll be perfectly happy to stick with the Hasbro versions.
