Hey, I was wondering if there are any figures based on the (really awsome) fantastic four cartoon (the recent one).

The ep I saw today had ironman in, DR doom stole all of his suits all of which were done in a great style, slightly differing to the original comic styles. I would REALLY love action figures of these as they were quite awsome.

Or someone tell hasbro to make me some XD

It is funny how they made spiderman figures of the new toon, with its not so great animation...I mean yes it is a good cartoon (espeshally since crispen freeman voices electro) but the animation style is as such that the action figures are awfull. Why no figures of the fantastic four toon with it's great animation style?

There were toys originally planned, but alas they were cancelled. Such a shame, I was so looking forward to the Hulk that was planned.

Also, if I remember correctly, there was supposed to be a BAF of the Mole Man's monster.

    Here's a couple of pics.

    And another.

Damn, those are some fine figs. Was there a reason given for them being cancelled?

I don't recall of any reason but I guess the show's lack of popularity was a reason? True the show was well animated but from what I gathered, it was not well received? I was looking forward to the Hulk figure.

Wow, those figs looked pretty cool. Too bad it was cancelled, probably would have sold better than the last movies toys did.

Dude, IMO that was the only option to go - no point pushing a line that had poor ratings! LOL!

I don't get it... great animation, good story telling and it did badly.....but poorly drawn shows like the new spiderman and new transformers do well....are american kids really that tasteless?

Transformers and Spider-man had better voice actors and a better story, people can forgive animation, they can't forgive crap writing. I used to watch the old 60's spiderman show, the animation was crap but the voice ators were good.

Well, considering that opinions are different - kinda like how I don't think Transformers is poorly animated - "taste" is a matter of opinion. Because I love TF:Animated, does that mean that I'm supposed to have the attitude that you have "bad taste", because you think it's crap? Am I wrong for respecting your opinion to dislike it? I can be a bigger d!ck, if I'm supposed to. :rolleyes2

On-topic, that sucks they got cancelled. I really wanted that series 2 Torch. :banghead:

Do you actually watch either of those shows, or do you just like ragging on the stylized character designs?

Fantastic Four had some sharp (anime-style) art, but there was nothing about its animation that I'd call "great". It just did its job, and nothing more. Spectacular Spider-man has been consistently balls-out awesome in the action sequence department, and TFAni has proven to show off a few slick tricks of its own.

And you know what? Those spectacular instances of animation are a direct result of the stylized art direction. You could have highly detailed character models like the 90's X-Men and Spider-man 'toons, but action sequences in those hovered around decent to clumsy, and Spider-man had a ridiculous amount of stock footage. The simpler, stylized character designs (coming into vogue with Batman: the Animated Series) mean that the characters are a lot quicker for the animators to draw, allowing them to focus more time on actually animating the characters, and it shows.

The fantastic 4 toon had good voice acting, good writing, great arawing etc. Something that is very unusual in modern day american cartoons.

As far as spiderman goes, it does have some great animation movment. But it is wasted on terrible drawing. I have only seen two eps so far, but from what I can see it looks to be too pradictable. I'll give it chance though.

As for transformers, I can over look the drawing style which looks like a 5 year old doodled badly as the story telling is pritty good...shame the voices kinda suck though.

As a kid, I loved the animated cartoons. Batman is still great today, and the spiderman toon was also great too. Do they not think kids appreciate good art style today or what? I do like the newer 'the batman' though, not as well done as the older one but it is great non the less..

    Again: your opinion.

Just because you don't think something is "as good", doesn't make it so. Same as if you think something's spectacular.

Please stop stating opinions as facts.
