Hey, as a FF fan, I just want a good movie. Looking at Fox's output versus Marvel Studios', of course I'd rather have Marvel make the movie, but a movie like Deadpool proved Fox could be successful by staying true to characters. For DP that was R-rated action comedy. Trying to make FF kid-friendly family adventure is a promising start. And focusing on the kids guarantees it won't be another origin story. Bring it.

Tom Rothman is gone from fox, so yes they do have a chance without him there to screw things up.

But Yes I would prefer Marvel.

Isn't there some law that they have to wait at least a few years before rebooting again?

No, of course not. There used to be an unwritten "rule" of sorts of waiting several years before trying to reboot something, but that window of time has increasingly started to shrink more & more, especially by studios that only own a couple "franchise potential" properties and really have nothing else guaranteed to make a big splash.

The only thing surprising here isn't that they're gonna try F4 yet again, but that they're not going to try capitalizing on Deadpool or Logan by making some super adult quasi R-rated version. Guess they'll try that when - not if - this kiddy version also flops.

Third time the charm? Oh wait, it didn't work... So, fourth time? Oh wait, four is also the number of death... but they are the Fantastic Four so... they're already doomed from the start.

I see what you did there.
This new premise sounds just as bad as the last movie they made. This poor franchise, with such amazing character stories, just can't catch a break at all.

Which is actually the most accurate and has the best plot.
It was just filmed on a budget so they could keep the rights.
Seriously the script if done with a budget and good special effects wouldn't be that bad.
It certainly has the most accurate Doom.

I didn't count the Silver Surfer movie since it a sequel and not a reboot.

Actually they only had about 1 million

    yet they did petty well
    This was their thing

    This was their Doom

A lot of the money went into those two costumes.
It was basically shot on the budget of one episode of the 90's flash Tv series.

If they had the budget of any of the other 3 FF movies it would have been a lot more impressive.
    Fan4stic had 125 million

They stayed very loyal to the source material and did the best they could with no real budget.

Also keep in mind that this version was prior to the first Hulk Movie, Spider-man, X-men and many other movies this was 1994, CGI use in movies was in it's early stages so most of this was done with practical effects. Jurassic Park only came out the year before.

You couldn't really get much money for superhero movies, Marvel was a joke. Blade hadn't even come out yet. The big Marvel movie prior to this was

Josh Trank Gives Final Word on Fantastic Four, Deletes Social Media Accounts

Josh Trank deleted his Twitter and Instagram accounts after a heated exchange with fans about 2015's much-maligned Fantastic Four.

Trank took to Twitter with his "final word" on Fantastic Four, in which he revealed a band he'd planned to include in his cut and promised a "dope drop." Things escalated as Trank hit back at critics, while some claim he was harassed off social media. On Instagram, he threatened to knock someone "the f**k out." A search for Tweets made by Trank leads to a message saying his account no longer exists.

Recently, Trank admitted he'd slept with a gun under his pillow due to the backlash against casting Michael B. Jordan as Johnny Storm in Fantastic Four. Later, Trank said he wished he'd quit the movie when Fox vetoed his plans to cast a black woman as Sue Storm. In the end, Kate Mara was cast as the Invisible Woman, who was the adopted sister of Jordan's Human Torch in the adaptation.

Star Toby Kebbell has praised the idea of the Trank Cut and said there was a darker version of the film that fans will (probably) never get to see, but Trank wasn't interested in ever releasing that film. For now, viewers are left piecing together their own version of what Trank wanted for Fantastic Four. Filming for the movie was notoriously messy, with Trank himself allegedly getting into physical altercations and heated exchanges with members of the cast and crew, including Miles Teller.

I watched it a week ago now that it was on Disney+. Its not as bad as people say but easily the worst FF movie. They don't even get their powers until over halfway through the film and don't act as a team until the last 20 minutes. While Johnny has a history of goofing on Ben, the line he says at the end (which I guess is supposed to be him goofing on him) is downright mean.

I hope when Disney does their version, it is closer to the comics and more fun. And keep Doom true to his comic form.

Guess we'll never get that fourth episode of Kevin Smith interviewing Trank for his podcast (Smith interviewed Trank for what was suppose to be 4 back to back episodes, 3 before the film hit, the final for after it's premiere, but once that date arrived, that fourth episode never happened and Smith pretty much hand-waved the whole matter).
