I think I'll pass. I loved the first one but the second one was pretty much made just so they could do a third movie. It had no story or resolution at all.
I still don't see why they had to shoehorn a magizoology plot to form the backbone of the Grindelwald story.
All this instalment could provide is a duel between Dumblebore and Grindelwald, two of the greatest wizards in the Potterverse and considered to be the greatest wizarding duel ever. (Which isn't part of Scamander's tale, but few people care) For that I suppose it'd be worth a watch, as long as the duel is Star Wars 3-level epic.
It really doesn’t make a lot of sense. One half of the story is Newt and his whimsical adventures with creatures. The other half of the story is super dark and involves Grindelwald killing babies. Crimes of Grindelwald was so bad, that I don’t see myself coming back for this one unless the trailers blow me away.
Well, it’s more that they stretched out a single book into three movies. This on the other hand is causing major contradictions within its own lore.
Hope he wins the lawsuit in the states and appeals this loss. If you examine the actual evidence, it looks bad for Amber. He basically lost his job because of a personal lawsuit. He was never convicted of anything. He lost his case against the Sun for Libel. He wasn't convicted of a crime.
the most disturbing part of this news is that WB apparently thinks we need another "Fantastic Beasts" movie.
I have my issues with Johnny Depp, but he’s getting screwed here big time. All the evidence is against Amber Heard; who seems like a legitimate psychopath that Johnny should have avoided in the first place. I even believed her at first with the video of an angry Johnny Depp and his increasingly drugged out behavior, but the more stuff that came out of the case the more it was clear who the real abusive one was, and it was Amber Heard; who also was accused of beating up her girlfriend years prior. While the former girlfriend says she recanted her story, she very well may have been paid off at this point. I think Depp was miscast as Grindelwald anyway, and Crimes of Grindelwald is easily the worst film in the entire franchise (unless they make a Cursed Child film). However, I find it troubling that they felt the need to can Johnny Depp after standing by him all this time, but Ezra Miller gets to keep his job after that video of him choke slamming a pregnant woman came out earlier this year. I haven’t heard much about that incident lately, but they’ve set a precedent that they now have to live up to with this decision. Hell, I think Amber Heard is still on board for Aquaman 2; which is even crazier to me because she’s not even that good of an actress, so it wouldn’t be hard to replace her at all.
Campea talks about this here-- The first video was made before he was fired. Also campea heard rumors the rdj may take his place in fantastic bests 3 but to take it as a rumor as he only heard from one source and can't confirm it's true. RDJ would be a good choice and he after dolittle needs better roles.
Nice to see despite all the evidence a clearly abusive bitch doesn't get canceled and the one she abused gets let go instead. Gotta love that pussy pass amirite? Locking up victims of abuse and their abusers is a pretty brave stance to take in this day and age I'll admit, and I respect that. But Imma have to disagree.
1. When is WB going to fire Amber Heard from Aquaman? 2. They might as well just scrap the Fantastic Beasts series now. Depp was the only saving grace from the second film and without him, there's no point in doing more. It goes to show why you should NOT be making movies just to bank on the sequels to complete the story. Not to mention Rowling has gone psycho as of late, so it's best to just cut their losses now and end the franchise.
I never particularly cared for these movies anyway. I'd rather see a sequel with new kids and have some of the previous cast be teachers.
