People like to point out that Spindrift still being available means that demand isn’t totally outstripping demand but in the UK at least the mini bots preorders did not sell out at all. Even with preorder discounts…

Perhaps Spindrift’s less heroic proportions dampen the demand for him?

 

Based on YouTube reviews from several years ago, some of the original releases of FT Dinobots had QC/design/material choice flaws (e.g. Soar had plastic, gold-colored pieces on his legs that would snap, and were later replaced by FT with metal pieces; Sever had a big gap in his under-side, FT later released some gap-covers for it). For the ones that were reissued, were these fixes integrated into the reissued versions? I'm just curious what I should expect from this year's Dinobot reissues.

 

The bugs were updated, I would assume the Dinobots will be as well.

 

From what I understand, only one of the three bugs was updated, right? Forager, the one with the famous wing-breaking problem, is unchanged?

 

So far, we know Grenadier is updated. I don't think anyone has received Forager yet.

 

Yeah they fixed a problem that no one was really bothered about on Grenadier but from what we’ve heard so far didn’t fix the major problem with Forager’s wings. Seems like there’s very minimal updates to the moulds.

 

thats a real problem! on the day Stomp was reissued the first day with TFSource which i missed i wasnt sure if to go a sleep or not not to miss it on other stores. its getting worst from time to time since ppl learn and see how it goes fast so it motivate them to buy more .. so on..

 

Do you mean unsustainable for FansToys or for you?
I collect Metal Builds and Macross DX Valkyries and they are selling out much quicker on the Japanese import stores than any of the FansToys releases for the last ~8 years.
So it seems to be working for the manufacturer.

 

I have the Sever reissue from 2018 and it included the gap-covers, pre-installed.

So the result of my experiment on the Stomp preorder:
- POs made in different stores: 11
- POs that could have been made in other stores (as of today): 7
- POs from known stores that could not be made because of time/other aspects: 5
- additional POs from the few stores that accept more than 1 preorder per ID: 4-7

Basically, I would be able to do some 25-30 POs for myself only, if I wanted to. Which is a high number, taking into consideration that most stores do not even get this number of products.

This is probably the reason that some stores bought in the past (and probably they still do), probably in secret, from Chinese stores to sell abroad. If someone has multiple accounts on Taobao, they can probably buy a hundred or more products. On the other hand, we do not usually see this high number available abroad, and I think this is because FT would note if that happened (and as I speculated here, I don't think they would be happy with it).

It's not. It's not even the total quantity TD received for that reissue. It's only how many TD sent to Paik to disburse to their East Coast customers. You're drawing errant conclusions from incomplete information. It's unclear why you choose to continue to do this.
