Love to see the mental gymnastics on that one my mp44 was 328 shipped and the $28 was shipping. This is starting to surpass something I pick up for sh!ts and giggles especially when the improvements over mp13 will be mostly aesthetic' and cosmetic-wise and not articulation wise looking at Chomp snd Rig.

No yeah I totally get where you're coming from. I think that is the part of me who just loves Soundwave to the point of wanting everything to be so right talking more than it should.

Again, I won't be surprised in the slightest if he ends up moreso towards what you've put out there, but man, it'll still be a bit of a shock, haha.

They probably have 2-3 years of rereleases planned ahead. FT, I need Maverick and an updated Hoodlum! :D

They certainly do. As I mentioned sometimes before, they probably have finished products at least 1-2 years before launch.

I'm fully expecting Soundwave to be $300

I think this tracks. What business sense is there in producing the same number of a figure that's a niche character vs a main character?

Then again, I'd like to know how much demand there is for MP in Japan. Headmasters is big there so maybe there's a big demand.

Yeah, I understand you, but you (and everyone here) might have already noticed that I work with information and data (usually facts), and try to make a careful analysis of all these points, meaning, I tend to try to be rational and not driven by emotion or wishes. It does work most of the time, but I do agree that I would also prefer a less expensive price. The only problem is that all the data and information we have do not support this :-(.

My feeling has always been that "smaller production run results in higher price" is marketing BS, to either catch buyers FOMO or make the point that there will not be enough units for everyone, or both.

Obviously a smaller run can mean that there's a difference in price, but we are talking scale here. Thousands of products.

So i believe that Chomp was a smaller run than Rig. TFSource had Chomp at 2 pcs per customer for a very short time, then it was changed down to 1 for i'm guessing the majority of stock. Rig was 2pcs per customer the whole time it was up.

Absolutely agree on every single point. And trust me, i'm forever grateful that we have people who go by the data when it comes to stuff like this, and you my friend are no exception.

But look i'm gonna probably get this thing anyway, it's fucking SOUNDWAVE after all :lol

328 shipped was from Amazon JP, something you conveniently failed to mention, so a fair comparison would be with Taobao, not with stores catering to Western audiences. And had MP-44 been released today, you'll be looking at 30 to 40 more bucks because AJP now adds tax on top for shits and giggles.

Edit: DHL shipping has also gotten more expensive, so you can tag on 20 more bucks to the whole thing.

More than $90 for a cassette bot is where this truly jumps the shark, imo.

Maybe it's just that many people settled with their 70 dollar badcube, instead of paying 100+ for a FT alternative.
I also think 230 dollar Chomp, while expensive, is more justified pricewise than 140 dollar Huffer.
If there already was a 3p alternative for Chomp, they wouldn't sell as fast as now.

I owned the Badcube figure, and it's a really good figure. I might actually buy it back. FT Huffer is 140? Isn't he just 124.99 at TCP/ToyDojo?

It seems it will be sold as a package of 4 cassette bots, not one (at least, that’s what the preorders say).

I'm most probably not getting FT's cassettes anyway. Already have MMC Frenzy & Rumble, MMC Ravage is out for delivery and I still need to get my hands on Laserbeak & Buzzsaw. Definitely will be the same for Blaster's tapes when they come out and we get something other than Transistor, haha.

Fans Toys FT-47 Rig is already sold out? When did this drop? I've been trying to keep up with the thread, but these pre-orders at my normal retailers are drying up so quick. This is kinda crazy. No wonder prices are increasing. Demand is there.

I really wish Fanstoys would just sell a new Tesla face made by the new guy along with maybe some accessories and take that 2.0 off the production load

I think tcp sold out around 5 est
