They're likely not even hosting their own servers. I don't know how 3dCart works, but they may not even have an option.

I believe it was $250. 250 points when you get it and my Cyclonus at $280 gave 280, as another example.

Plug that 32X module in the slot, baby! :D
And yet it happens with so many sites to this day, large and small, when there is a popular release dropping at a specific time. You're right, the tech exists, yet it doesn't seem to be used. Or at least not used effectively.

Because Smokey and Spindrift 2.0 were released this year and the prices were reasonable. I was expecting $150 or $160. But maybe Smoke and Spin has their preorders released before FT and/retailers knew they could sell for more? I also wonder if the retailers are ever in collusion.

For me, pretty much anything over about 189 all but guaranteed that I’d be passing on this guy because I just really do not care about this grouping of characters. But that it is likely to cost $230-250 just compounded me from a no to an absolute no.

Okay... Even though I agree with your statement about the prices being ‘too high’, this is like the pinnacle of the confusion people have over what qualifies as opinion vs fact.

Years from now, the price will show as 324.99. Ministry of Truth style.

Well, fact meaning we have seen figures release recently, Smokey and Spin Drift at what 120 and 96 USD. Chomp does not differ in quantity/quality of materials from these figures by 130 to 150 USD, FACT. But I do understand how this is my opinion in some viewer's eyes.:confused2

As harsh as this meme is this is exactly what is taking place. The conclusion is buyers who wait will dictate the price, retailers will be forced to discount this figure and everyone will pay exactly what they want. Bad move by tf to bully a price with a low tier character who not many even can complete the collection.

Lmfao. Very true. One of the most disconcerting things that happens in this hobby.

@Marcelo Antunes Was that you had info about a possible rerelease of Lupus, maybe as part of a 3 set with Cyclonus and Chomp?

The set of 3 was a joke here, but the reissue of Lupus is a rumor with some supporting elements from comments in different places (even more now that Chomp will be released).

Final price of a product is not determined only by the final product. For example, Chomp got redesigned. FT did mention in the past here that molds could cost as much as 100,000 USD. I could list more things, but I think the idea is clear.

Well if we take cost to be subjective, there are no facts to cost of items then. I'll see my self out...

Cost is not subjective (value is) but the fact is that we have no information on FT business specificities, including their expenditure.

It's pretty clearly not a fact, since value is entirely subjective.

I’m surprised people are buying this. Seeing the stampede still happen when there’s a hiked price on a fairly insignificant character has really made me reevaluate who buys FansToys’ products and why.

Every time an old figure is reissued, a few people show up to feign a problem with scalping and increased prices... and yet, with a new character, they still seem to be in line and buying this stuff up.

Whining about reissues, to me, has always seemed like subtle market manipulation from current owners, and now, I’m more convinced of that than ever.

I agree with everyone here. Clearly we're being taken advantage of as collectors. Now who wants to send a bold message to the establishment about fair pricing and sell me Lupus or Dracula at MSRP?
