I've committed to completing the combiners but after that I'm most likely dropping them. I already had Berserk and Outrider preordered back when they were available but if they decide to double the price I'll just stick to DX9 Gewalt and MMC Terraegis as my Blitzwing and Trailbreaker.

I really wanted Quietus for the longest time but when it was finally reissued they bumped the price by $100, I turned around and just went for the XTB figure instead. At this point I don't see myself going back unless they end up doing a character I really really want(like Sideswipe, Skywarp or Devastator) and have them at reasonable prices

What were the retail prices on those?

The more info you dig up, the more it becomes clear that everything around FT is just normal retail operation.

Yup! Same, better safe than sorry. It's so easy to cancel with them it's no big deal.

It's really odd when stores release their preorders. Terry has been late getting the latest FT releases, but now is one of the first to have Chomp up. I guess it's because Chomp is a NEW figure and not a reissue. Yet BBTS, which has been really early lately, doesn't have it up at all.

Probably just depends on when the info comes through from FT.

    Thanks Marcelo, will do. :)

I hope it doesn't slow them down irrevocably. At this point, all I want from FT is Astrotrain, Jazz, Huffer, Cliffjumper, Gnaw, Devastator, Brainstorm. One of those is released but extremely hard to come by at a reasonable cost; two of them are accounted for with prototypes, two with shadow teases and two as yet to be hinted (though if not Gnaw, then Brainstorm seems inevitable once the Decepticon Headmasters are completed.)

But I think just for those 7 figures, I'll still be in for one hell of a wait.

Chomp for 240 is way to expensive
    He's not a tripple changer.
He should be 150-180 with current inflation.
I think Weirdwolf was 130-150 when it was released, same for Mindwipe.

I put a deposit on baba’s site. Truly hoping this is NOT $240 otherwise I’m out.

if this Is the case, I don’t want to know what the last stunticon will retail for. I may not finish the set.

I paid $165 at retail for Dracula exactly a year ago. This is $20 more than Thomas and $40 more than Apache? They’re just reaching for the moon.

This isn’t parts count or pandemic shipping, at best we’re paying an extra $100 for the redesigned tail and legs?

Not being a jerk, but is there any reason to expect it to be less than $240 based on what the insecticons and cyclonus inflation has looked like?

    Ebay:
Omegalock just confirmed Chomp will be 180 gbp once they list it after TFS-Express China have allocated the stock post-ft26 rejig.

At least us UK folk know that whatever isn't sold out will get put on Omegalock too. I was asking them specifically because of watching for Beserk

Not excusing the price inflation in any way, I am guessing the sticker price factors in the aftermarket prices for the other 2 headmasters (basically establishing a new price floor) as well as anticipated lower sales volume, since fewer people are going to buy Skullcruncher than a character from say, season 1. Asking whose bottom line the increased prices wind up in (retailers, distributors, Fanstoys, factory owners, or materials suppliers) would be an excellent question without an obvious answer.

Thank you for the excellent information you always provide, Marcelo. Do you by any chance know what the minimum order size is for a retailer/distributor? Just asking to satisfy my curiosity.

Yeah I know they don’t want him sitting on shelves forever like Lupus and Dracula, I think they’ll probably make less of them than the average release.

Corretion - this is wrong, this is the price I am paying, and the stores won’t tell the proce they paid (which is obvious, but a least I tried). Anyway, of them did seem to confirm to me that the price is 550-600 for each, which seem to imply that, although sold in different proces on store, the stores probably pay the same for them (and less that 550-600 for each).

I am not a fan of @franpincho and their view. But they have a point, the prices are getting insane and no that is not an opinion, it is fact!

Edit, I am however unclear as to where the price increase fault lies, FT or Retailers.
