Really don't get the negativity towards Huff v2. It looks close the the animation model and it's no more lightweight than any other minibot in my collection (the feet are die cast as well). Fair enough the cab is off model, but bot mode is more important to me. I don't have any QC issues with mine and it only cost me £35 new. It's even got the best feet of almost any Badcube figure I own.

I'm sure any eventual FT figure will be better by virtue of having years to improve upon Huff. If we're taking cheap Christmas cracker quality toys, the Final Victory one is much closer to that than Huff...

FT's looks to have possibly the worst hands even for a minibot and even from the company that gave us the abominations on Rouge.

I personally vastly prefer the V2 over the V1 (I bought two V2's, one for each mode). The vehicle mode looks more like a masterpiece and less like a Happy Meal toy.
Having said that, I can totally understand why folks don't like it. Badcube made a conscious decision to give V2 a more realistic alt mode, but in doing so, they decided to mimic a vehicle that actually looks nothing like Huffer. That's the issue people have. BC could have easily made him an MP quality, realistic truck and used something like this instead:
    upload_2020-2-12_9-31-19.jpeg upload_2020-2-12_9-31-53.jpeg

We haven't seen FT's alt mode, and given the extra panels on the back of the bot mode, we really don't know what it will look like.
I'm torn personally. FT tends to go for very realistic alt modes (most of their MP's) but every now and then they throw in a Chibi mode: Brawn and Beachcomber come to mind. Huffer seems like one of those characters that FT will probably go chibi on. That could still work, but in the main I'm not a huge fan of the overly toon chibi looks for alts modes. I just hope that, if they do go that way, it's in such a way that will still work for me.

Only three pages for a Fans Toys' "G1" Masterpiece-style character!

Why does Huffer get no love?

    Dat’s some nasty shoulder positioning/rotation.

    May be, but that's Huffer.

Maybe that's why he was so grouchy?

Cause FT Huffer gives us no love? :p
We have a blurry background pic and now a single grey proto pic released as part of a semi-comedic photo of several bigger characters. There hasn't been much to say till now. And honestly, what little FT has shown has pretty much been in the background for other releases, so it kind of doesn't feel like FT are putting much priority on him yet.

Admittedly I would have expected more comment one the new photo released but I think the combination of a controversial new Arcee, a new BeastWars MP and the sneaky reveal of a V2 Perceptor took a lot of the wind out of poor Huffer's sails.

Don't worry, I predict once we see a super chibified alt mode shot or maybe a glittery metallic disco paint job, folks will start to talk!!

For now, I wan to get a better look at that backpack!! He's one of the few characters that's supposed to have a big backpack and I want to see what cleverness F are doing there.

Looking at the 3d render it pivots in the correct place.

Hopefully both. I'm expecting one or more adaptors will be included. FT are unlikely to limit themselves only to those who bought 44.
Heck, they may go full nostalgia and include an adaptor for FT-01!!!!

That would do a good job emphasizing Huffer as a minibot considering it is MP-1 size. That is the only FT mold I've never gotten, of course I don't have MP-1 for it to go with either.

I'm with you on that. Toro fills a space on the shelf, but it's proportions are terrible compared to the newer style MP-45 and I really hope FT (or even Takara) comes out with an improved version soon.

Yeah, it looks terrible, but that's how he looks in the show/comic...

I'm really glad FT does all of the bots. I don't understand Takara's choices. I'm not in for Brawn, Huffer or Windcharger for that matter, but they deserve an MP way more than Arcee does.

Makes you wonder: will FT ever do Optimus? A fully painted one.

I imagine that they could even gives us options with a hinge that could gives us multiple shoulder positions; gimpy vs. Heroic.

I dunno. I feel Arcee still needed some alternatives. None of the existing ones are spot on (neither is Takara's of course, but it's pretty close in a lot of ways, and way off in other ways). Unfortunately Brawn, Huffer and Windcharger are all mini-bots so Takara can't charge as much for them.

I have no idea if FT will ever do their own Optimus, but if they do, I imagine it won't be for a long time. There's already a glut of options and there's still plenty of other characters left to do (or re-do) for FT. I'd expect a new FT Shockwave before an Optimus.

I'm waiting for them to announce Toon repaints of their Dino's. That's a slippery slope I'd definitely find myself trapped on!
