This is a pleasant surprise. I had given some thought to TW Devestator but I was Leary because of all the QC issues I was hearing about from people. If Takara doesn't put out an official one I will absolutely end up with this on my shelf

 

Getting version 2 is still pretty tempting even though Fanstoys hinted on doing their own. We won't see theirs for 2-3 years at the earliest. Version 2 probably within a year

Well to be fair I have found Fans Toys supporters to be very "devout" and hyper sensitive to any criticism. So I can understand what he means by the blind devotion.

In saying that I believe there is currently only one Devastator option that is MP scaled and that is Toyworld. So if it comes to choosing between FT and Toyworld then yeah FT probably has a better track record and worth waiting for.

 

I'm still tempted by the TW offering...have an opportunity to grab him used locally for only $425 (transformed from alt mode to bot modes, never combined according to seller).

 

So FT is just going to make Weirdwolf, and... No other other headmasters until after 2037?

 

On the bright side, their omega proves they wouldn't be averse to doing 3 foot versions of scorponok and fort max to be in scale with the rest of the line.

 

I think most people who feel this way are Giga fans and are hyper-sensitive themselves. Just saying.

Thank god uw-04 devastator made me feel like if it were a big slender block of hallowness and gravity builder being the idw chracter fan favorite. I think I'll trust this better than if takara ever made one. It'll be about uw-04 devastator's height tbh

I wonder if FT can get the price of their Devastator lower than TW... if they do I'll have no choice but to get this.

 

While I'm normally a huge FT fan, and have pre-ordered almost everything they have announced, I'm worried that this will be too short? Devy needs to be Massive. Hugeness is his thing. But comparing TW Devy to the photo's of FT Omega (using Optimus as a yardstick) I think Omega will be shorter than TW Devy. And with FT Devy shorter still, this may only end up Gravity builder or Combiner Wars height. (pics are not too scale but based on where Optimus' head is, Omega looks shorter).

 

This is my drawback too. I think he'll be on the small side in all modes.
