I guess I should say from FT I want a chibi mode.

In theory I'd like to say real Porsche, but that is basically what XTB's Toro is isn't it? Toro's alt mode just does not look right for Cliffjumper.

The toon crowd is killing the true Masterpiece aesthetic.

It was bad enough when the robot modes started becoming plain and bland to look more like the 'toon models, but now they're calling for shitty, unrealistic alt. modes too. I bet Hasui is so disappointed in the direction his vision has been hijacked towards.

You have a choice of like 2 or 3 real world car mode Cliffjumpers right now and none of them work in robot mode cause every dimension is stretched out in car mode. We don’t need another sacrificial CJ to throw on the bonfire!

I’m not a big supporter of toon aesthetic either but I feel like he’s the exception to the rule because by my memory Cliffjumper never looked like a Porsche in either the cartoon or comic book

you have plenty of options for the "realistic" altmodes...lets see:
    -Prime: mp1, mp10
    -Bumblebee: mp21
    -Jazz: zeta/toyworld, downbeat
-prowl (datsun bros): mp17 et al.
    -sunstreaker: BC sunsurge
    -sideswipe: mp-12
-cliffjumper: toro, ace toys whatever his name was
    -hound: willis, gundog
    -wheeljack:mp20
-the fuso bros: maketoys whatever their name was
    -trailbreaker: BC, XTB, MMC
    - mirage: MMC, DX9
and so on and so on.
I don't mean to come off belligerent...not my intent...but I see this comment made sooooooooooooooooooooooo often that it I just have to remind folks that before the whole toon thing (which I love), pretty much every mp/mp-styled release was real world. So for years and years you got what you wanted release after release...while we kept waiting and waiting. Now it's our turn...and you know what? It's Ok...we are allowed.
Eventually the pendulum will swing back the other way and you will get what you desire. You just have to be patient...like we were for all those years.

But it is kind of stupid IMO to switch aesthetics in the middle of the run.

Chibi...Porsche.....whatever. I just want FT to finally nail the bot mode without the clown shoes and ridiculous backpack. I’ll take whatever alt-mode (likely chibi) that gives us the first decent looking CliffJumper for display purposes.

It probably didn't help that they made two versions of Cliffjumper and Bumblebee in both red and yellow.

Although it didn't start out this way, having the Masterpiece line be as cartoon accurate as possible is a logical move. I've always been under the impression their goal was going towards suprume accuracy, and so I find it hard to see why people want these characters to be inaccurate. I don't really care for G1, given I lack a nostalgia bone, and because I didn't grow up during the 80s. If people want realism, buy the movie figures.
I don't want a lazy drawing as a physical figure, but I do want that figure to be an upgraded version of that drawing.

I didn't even know he was a Porsche. So full on toon/chibi!

The trouble is, where does it end? Would you'll seriously prefer an MP Jazz that looks like this 20200219_101746.jpg
    Instead of this 1977_Porsche_935-0-1024.jpg
I guess the upside of that is that Hastak can save money on vehicle licensing. And pass that saving on to us. Yup.

I think there is a difference between fhe chibi cars and the normal cars.

But I like cartoon more. My Starscream should have nullrays under his wings. Not rockets.

Well in that case, it’s just drawn off model, cars are tough to animate in 2D.

Only the minibots were in Chibi style, all the regular Autobot cars are pretty much standard semi realistic.

FT's Brawn doesn't have a real world vehicle mode. So I'd say it's a pretty safe bet their Cliffy won't either. I wonder if they'd scale bot mode to the new Bee. Or just do there own thing.

FT Brawn and Beachcomber are clearly chibi/toon accurate.
FT Warpath is clearly real world accurate.
Either way, it's too late for coherence here LOL, so I guess that FT Cliffjumper will be what it will be.

We had both already (Toro real accurate, Hellion chibi) so everyone is more or less covered at this point.
