Prioritizing transformation but looking in the "extremely pricey, cartoon-accurate, Masterpiece market" just strikes me as wanting to buy an Xbox in hopes of playing Super Mario Bros. You technically could do it, but it's probably not a good idea.

 

Idk, you pointed out they look cartoonish in a cartoon. I pointed out they are also 2d objects. By the same logic, this figure isn’t accurate to anything.

 

I wouldn't say no if FT included a second weapon option(aside from the Megatron-killer), similar to the guns that Toro and Hellion have.

I'm personally fine with faux parts as long as they don't end up creating a mild to major issue for bot mode in general, but mainly in either aesthetic or quality.

As for Cliff, he looks good of course so we'll have to see once we get more images on how the inner workings do what they do.

Agreed, I have Hellion currently and I HAD the Toro reissue on PO until today's reveal. Definitely going to be offloading Hellion sooner or later, hahaha.

Like I said above, we'll have to see later on how Parkour exactly works transformation-wise, though I personally would imagine the at least possibility of there being a faux chest.

 

Agreed. I like the little pistol that MP-45 Bumblebee came packed with as that's normally the kind of gun that Cliffjumper had in the cartoon. Both the big shoulder-cannon and the giant pistol seen in these promo-shots look kind of huge.

He's a middle-aged man obsessed with a ropily animated, 37 year old cartoon. I think that would be classified as a pretty major fault in most peoples opinion.  

 

Robot 9/10 feet are a lil flat

car mode 5/10 half of it captures toon aesthetic, proportions are off nose of car still bit long, thin, back spoiler could be higher. Bottom line it’s not toon sunbow accurate. Is it better than what came before it, yes. Will I still pick it up, yes. Just expect the best from good ol FT.

 

I thought I didnt want chibi alt modes for minibots, partly due to stuff like Toyworld Bii, Final Victory Warpath, etc - ewww, but MP-45 showed me it could be done well. I find 45 works better for me with the regular cars in alt mode than MP-21. 21 just obviously is a normal car underscaled, but 45 being taller, wider, bigger wheels, looks something more like a regular scale car with an extreme length chop customisation, and somehow fits with the others better.

This is gonna go great with MP-45! Great bot mode, and the alt is as successful as MP-45 for me. Has the right features to be recognisable enough as a chibi Porsche 924 Carrera GT rather than looking generic. Would have liked to see the distinctive four ovals of the real car and toy at the front, but those aren't in the toon model so fair enough.

Only criticism is the face can do with some work.

People are allowed to dislike the alt mode in the hope of getting a more realistic car as that is what MP is generally all about, no? Last time I watched anything G1, Starscream didn't have the millions of sculpted in jet details as many MP versions both official and 3P have added. Get off people's case and let them state their likes AND dislikes.

On topic:
I dig this, and I'm not sure yet how I feel about the alt mode though I do think it looks cool, it's really sporty for having such stumpy proportions. If an mp sized human could look like it could fit in it, maybe I'll chalk it up to being just a really odd car that got built in an alternate timeline of humanity lol.

 

Huh... looks like they couldn’t decide on if the altmode should be chibi or traditional and went in between, which is probably way worse for both sides than just choosing one or the other.

True. Bad wording on my part. I was just saying that we didn't know anything for sure from just having this thing in-hand and being able to transform it for ourselves and see. I have no doubt that it is a faux chest, personally, possibly one of if not the best looking i've seen to boot where you might not even notice such at first.

Absolutely agree about the alt-mode. Bee showed that chibi penny racers can be done in Masterpiece, and I think Cliff's is just a spot-on example of it at it's best.

As for the face, I think it's fine. It's the open mouth face that I have an issue with.



It just doesn't seem to clear on emotion. I'm hoping we see both a shouting and smiling face included, though I hope FT makes them more discernible than just THIS.
