I’m divided on the chibi debate. I typically lean toy- rather than toon-aesthetic, meaning in most early-G1 MP cases I want more of a realistic alt mode. However, in this case, the original toy was unrealistic. The Microchange cars weren’t meant to represent real cars that become giant robots— they were toy cars that kids could turn into small toy robots. Therefore, whether you fall on the toon or toy side of the argument, the answer is still “chibi”.

Except I’d still prefer CJ transform into a realistically-scaled and -detailed Porsche 924T.

I tried. Sometimes I CAN resist replacing a perfectly good BOT... Jazz being one of them.
    Sometimes... I can't.
I was fine until this latest video.
    This morning it became official.
Parkour will be heading to my RollerStash in a few short weeks! :D

It doesn't do an insane amount for me personally, but I have Bee 1.0 & 2.0. 2.0 has never left his box because I hate the "good enough" takara did on his feet.

So even if I'm not all-in on chibi-toon, anyone doing a better job than takara ought to be encouraged in hopes of a future Bee

[moody_rant]Don't get me wrong - I much prefer Transformers that I can actually transform too but the problem for me has become that no one making MP figures seem to care about the joys of that anymore. Not Fanstoys, not xtransbot and not even Takara.

I have spent 20 years, starting with MP-01, on this line and sadly it's no longer what it was. And so I'm at a point now where I just want to finish my G1 checklist to finish it and be done with this scale. And if I feel the urge to transform an MP I'll reach for my old MP Prowl or Ironhide.

If I could go back and start all over again with the knowledge I have now I don't know if I would even start it. I'm much happier (and so is my wallet) with my '86 movie display which is all legends scale. They may not be as accurate but, for me, they're more enjoyable.

    YouTube (Handle):
I'm quite happy to remember the mould myself. The feet are the only thing that really look ugly, and even they aren't as bad in hand (when it's on display I barely notice them).

Everything's definitive until someone makes something better.

Interestingly enough, I largely agree with you. I don’t really even think about “accuracy” and I don’t care much for mainline Hasbro, but the MP/3P market that at one time really challenged my budget now rarely tempts me. Most of my spending in the past 2 years has gone to 3P legends figures, which may seem like a poor value by mass, but are really ticking the right boxes for me. They currently provide me far more bang for the buck (satisfaction-wise) than the MP scale.

I thought Parkour might actually scratch the MP itch, but after watching the transformation video, my interest is waning. If FT offered a silver-faced, black-limbed, yellow-finish variant to homage my first Transformer back in 1984, then I’d be on the hook. At the moment, though, I’m just on the fence.

That's what happens when you try and transform Jannson and Jive at the same time

Yeah the video started out being stop motion. But the transformation was so involved they gave up on it halfway through
Looks good though. Particularly during the comparisons

Shouldn't there be another Fans Toys video coming? Or did I miss the second one? Or do they only do one video and my brain Fight Clubs more than one video into my memory?

They usually do an unpacking and one each for transformation each way.

They usually do a at least a "guide" transformation video shortly after the "Coming Soon" reveal. Then depending on the figure, they'll do an "Unboxing and Reverse Transformation"

Maybe they're letting the Mangmotion video take the place of their normal transformation vid.
