Yeah. Who knows what the final color will be at this point. I wouldn't be surprised if the first release is one color then months later they release an "M" (movie) version.

I do hope China can get the better of the Corona virus soon. It's not been a good time for them. That other situation is their own fault of course.

 

I took it more as a gesture of solidarity by FT, showing FT's figures sharing the experience with the people in regions plagued by the virus. I don't think it was intended to be "ha ha" funny at all.

 

Nope... I'm part of that club too. I prefer the heroic look and more detailed aesthetic. The current trend towards a more 'toon centric appearance is making the figures look plain, boring and/or dumpy to me, and Tesla V.2 looks like it's going to hit all three of those marks. I'm so glad I'm not beholden to a nearly 40 year old, cheaply animated, glorified advert.

And that's exactly why I prefer mine.

at least they are revisiting him. the original bugman I never purchased. so Ill be looking to get this version with the more accurate body and hopefully better facesculpt.

Didn't FT lose the original molds of Tesla and that's why they never did a reissue?

 

So, since FT have begun putting out second versions I'm wondering if Quakewave v2 or a leg upgrade for old v1 might be a thing... @dalianjj

 

Hoping for V2 Quakewave as well... Sold my KO Takara version, and i have owned QW and QB too. If they do one, hoping for painted big eye, and more curvy legs.

 

Why do that when they can sell you the repaint six months later?

Well, this is a complete new mold, not a reissue (if that was not the point you were making, sorry)

Tesla looks much different (like crap). This is a new Perceptor right here, and as boring of a character as it can be, it is likely the best one we'll ever get IMO. Not to say it looks average, it actually looks amazing.

So I'm ok with the original mold being lost forever

I totally agree that many of the "toon-accurate" figures look dumpy. I respect your preferences, and there are times when I like my bots to be super "cool" or badass looking.

At the same time, I actually really enjoy when these G1 style toys look dumpy and weird. It reminds me of the silliness and childlikeness of the original cartoon. Particularly with characters like Seaspray, Huffer, Cosmos, etc... to me there's something really endearing about how dumpy and "uncool" they look. It makes me want to be their friends, haha. (Come to think of it, there still hasn't been a Seaspray that is "dumpy" enough for my liking!)

 

Its all good I know it's a new mold. I was just asking cause Telsa and only a few others never got reissues. I thought I read on one of the FT threads a while back that they lost a couple of their molds cause they were always moving factories.

 

I guess ill get it. No one else has came to the rescue.

 

I kinda feel the same here, that's especially true for autobots, as most of them are not even supposed to be fighters in the first place, but normal robo-guys who are forced to fight against evil. Decepticon, on the other hand, need to be menacing and badass.

 

Only just saw this, I really need to check outside of my watched threads more often. I like it a lot, and no one else seems to be giving any indication of doing Perceptor so I'll probably be in on this. It's not been Fanstoys thing lately but I do hope they use glossy paints rather than metallic for this.
