I'm never happy, I thought that was established long ago...
Awwww...my soul mate
No I think i said the other day I disagree with the luxury thing, but on re-evaluation I guess the diecast and paint do give them a premium sort of feel. I guess I can actually see why someone would think it was better than other products, of course I still don't think that myself but yeah I can kinda see why someone else would.
It's all luxury to me
You know more about this than me. Something I guess I shouldn't say doesn't exist as you've just given an example of it. But I was more getting at my experience of people accusing any company of it when something is hard to get hold of, they jump straight to it's a sales tactic. I honestly do not subscribe to the idea that fanstoys are doing it. As much as I gripe about their pricing, they have been pushing reissues out at good speed.
Just giving a quick history lesson. I know there are many out there who scoff at the diecast aspect because at times it makes figures harder to pose and handle. Most of the time, I agree with those sentiments but I understand what people find high-end about those figures.
Even when I was a kid, I heard people complain about cheap plastic toys and I think it’s a stigma that continues for some people (I am old!). I collect CHUG…I mean MP so everything is luxurious to me.
I don’t care about XTB or FT, it’s all about Titans Return baby!
What about the new Studio Series figure? It's smaller, more expensive, and has the same ugly forearm gaps but without the headmaster gimmick. You pay more for less!
I honestly thought it looked pretty good for $20.....
I'm skipping it for the same reason I skipped the TR: forearm gaps. For that reason it's worse than the TR figure because it does nothing to improve upon its predecessor.
Forearm gaps are a pet peeve of mine. I mean, I wouldn't buy a Marvel Legends figure missing the entire inner part of its forearm. I'm sure they have budgetary constrains of their own, but you'd never see a Han Solo figure with hollow calves sitting there in a Black Series box. Just because it's relatively cheap doesn't mean it has to look like cheap junk, Hasbro needs to just spend the penny it takes to add a flap and a pin there.
I'm not asking for a FT Tesla shrunk down to a CHUG scale, I just don't want it to be chock full of holes. There should be a middle ground between $220 MP and $20 retail toy.
Oh yeah the gaps suck, I just think it looks like a good $20 toy. They totally should have filled those in.
Ha ha XTB a commoners' brand tickled me! What we should really be doing is bringing back proper social class systems. One should need to be born of the right stock in order to be able to buy FT. Commoners can buy XTB, and the real scum can only have KOs of G1 toys or something. And let's stamp out upward mobility too - shouldn't have XTB people suddenly getting new money and being able to buy FT.
Let's make this hobby better.
It does look good good for that price.
10 of those for 1 ft version.
Here here! I second this motion
Very good. But I have to say, looking at your portrait there, I don't think you have quite the breeding to qualify to buy FT, pal. Or XTB.
Wrong thread buddy. Looks like that cat is in search of Locke.
You guys were…pppppzzzzz…something but I couldn’t…bbbzzzzzztt…it, bad reception…zzzzzttttt…going…bbbzzzz…tunnel!
FYI - preorder open again
Anyone miss out on a preorder that uses BBTS? I've decided to pass for $ reasons and am planning on canceling mine with them. Thought we could attempt "timing" it if anyone is interested (though I'm unsure how quickly bbts updates).
Cool. Thought that was how it worked but wasn't sure.
