Mine came today but I will see it in a few hours until my work ends

 

Received my Tesla and wow it's beautiful! I personally love the red, but I'm not particularly attached to the shade of red he was in the cartoon, and it feels close enough for me. when transforming him to a Microscope, did anyone else have a heck of a time locking his legs in? One went in for me with no issues but I was afraid I was gonna snap something in half on the other leg.

 

Hopped on the Tesla train once he dipped down to $160, so glad I did!

 

Love the figure. As per usual with FT. Love the aesthetic. Love the silhouette. Love the materials and build. Love the paint. Blows XTB away as per usual (never buying XTB again).

Only have 4 criticisms and most of them are just my opinion.

1: The paint scraping on the thighs that people are experiencing during transformation. I haven't transformed mine, so I have not had this myself. But this seems to be a very common thing and not isolated. But, since we all should now know, we can try to avoid it. Still I think everyone can agree with this point of criticism. FT, there really is no excuse for this.
2: I don't understand why it comes with SO many full heads. It really only needed 3 heads and then the swapable faceplates. Makes no sense other than to add to the cost. Maybe there was a factory costing deal for "x" numbers of parts count. I get that all the time at work. But other than that, I just see it as a waste. Just my opinion.
3: The blaster... It looks nothing like the toy... It looks nothing like the toon... It looks nothing like the comic/IDW. I think this is where XTB beats FT... And the only area imo. I would love to have had a toy style blaster instead of all the full heads. The hand launcher, however, is slick. Again, Just my opinion.
4: The teal paint. The hue is fine. But it is matte compared to the gloss metallic red. It is a very odd decision. I would have much preferred a metallic gloss teal. Again, my opinion.

I know there are also some posability limitations (seems common with FT) but I don't really do a lot of dynamic posing in my display so its fine for me.

Tesla 2.0 is Fantastic. I'm really torn as to which head to use.. Toy? Toon? IDW? I really like them all. Well worth the years long wait. Not that I want to continue that kind of wait for LONG over due releases... Berserk... Outrider... Bandit...

You can slide the scope off the blaster to make it more G1/Toon accurate.

True, with all the heads they provided, some could have been light grey as well, as his face did appear to be this colour in some episodes as well as the white faces this figure sports.

 

Guys help me, I'm trying to get the blue off his eyes so I can paint them, I've put them in bleach which usually works but this time round...nada. I've tried rubbing alcohol and white spirit in the past neither of those seem to do the trick. Is there anything else any of you can recommend?

 

I usually have luck soaking in rubbing alcohol for a day or so.

 

Anyone Interested in Tesla 2.0? I got a practically brand new one opened. Nvr Transformed. Its lower than US and overseas price. Only missing clear chest plate.

How the fuck do you guys get his colours to look so toon accurate? I guess it must be all about the lighting, mine tends to look this this all the time.....



   

 

@malware5 Me, I use regular lighting from the house. nothing special here. Also Galaxy S10+. Not sure that means anything lol

 

I'm starting to think Tesla 2.0 is my favorite figure ever.

 

Honestly think its the background. Mine is darker shade of red on a darker shelving similar to what u have(maybe a little lighter). Dont have a pic handy to show

 

You lack natural lighting, you used flash and your background is hardly ideal for taking a photo.

Find a place on your house where you have natural light aplenty during the day, a place to put the figure on that's neutral of colour (either black, white or another very light colour) and don't use flash.

 

That's not my picture I'm complaining about, I'm saying that's what mine looks like even under different types of lighting - cool, white and even outdoor/natural sunlight and I don't use flash as well.

Anyhow...anyone knows where I can get a toon accurate sticker for this guy, it doesn't seem to be the conventional autobot logo?
