Sorry to hear that, the g1 toy head is the only one I care about. Janssen will be my movie shelf bot and Telsa 2.0 will get the toy head and represent for the original g1 figures!

I think I might HAVE ordered two teslas by accident. But that’s beside the point… there are actually things I prefer about xtbs, visually, that make me want it also. I know it’s an inferior build but given that FTS costs like $100 more as long as it looks the part, I can deal.

Took some time to photograph Perceptor and I’m glad I didn’t pass. It was an impulse buy; however, I loved the toy growing up so why not!

On a related note, I decided to stay with the clear chest because of the original toy. Out of curiosity, for those that opted for the red chest insert, did you have the original toy growing up?

I opted for the red chest. I didn't have Perceptor as a toy -- only saw him once when we were on vacation, but couldn't convince my parents to buy him even with the argument that it was a real working microscope.

I just transformed my Tesla back and forth for the first time. He definitely brings up some memories from Sheridan. There is a ton of fluid (mold release? lubricant?) still on him.
And I had to loosen a few screws on him to actually make some parts move (the arms and heels).

Two questions that came to my mind:
In bot mode, you can't seem to get the legs aligned perfectly straight at the knees. They are either little over or under 180 degrees. Since it is the same on both, I assume that is by design?
Similar in microscopse mode, the examination table and the upper body are not 90 degrees, the table hangs through a bit. Also by design?

Haven't pulled the trigger (and probably won't- although I keep revisiting the question). That clear chest is the reason I would get him over the other one (?x-transbots?). I would definitely display him with clear chest. I did have and love the toy growing up. If the other had the clear chest (at the lower price point) it's more likely I would have made the purchase. Have to have the clear chest if I get him at all.

I didn't have Perceptor as a kid. But I was exposed to the toon long before I got any toys (and even then I barely ever owned any, just a handful I got from my cousin, then once in a blue moon after that) so I always saw the toys as poor representations of the characters I knew from the toon.

I had the toy and liked it a lot as a kid but I’m all about that sweet red chest. Just looks so nice and clean with a white outline Autobot symbol on there.

He looks good. Though he would of been over the top with the optional Toy Aqua Green thighs and forearms like the original Tesla did. I mean this time they included the G1 Toy head soo..
FT did right by the chrome and clear chest option.

Mine hasn't arrived yet because FedEx is a garbage carrier (if a shipment gets to my area early, they'll sit on it until the actual due date, yet they have no trouble at all missing due dates as well). Though actually maybe it's due to the weather in Texas, which, while it definitely excuses them this time, doesn't change the fact that they're garbage the rest of the time.

Anyway, I also never owned the toy but I will be displaying him with the clear chest. I'm one of those that feels that limited animation budget is not something to be nostalgic for - I always imagined the characters existing in the real world with realistic details, and the cartoon was there to guide my imagination, not to be taken literally.

Yeah a lot of people seem to be judging it just as it is, but I feel like a nice toon accurate symbol in the middle will make it look perfect.

They take forever to deliver your stuff! See below......

    Screen Shot 2022-02-06 at 10.34.07.png

I paid for Rig on the 18th, he wasn't 'shipped' until the 27th of Jan, I had to send an email asking why it hadn't been inexplicably shipped after over a week of purchase and lo and behold it got shipped a day after I sent the email. That's some crappy service, buddy. Whilst the prices are good they are almost nullified with this kind of service. From the looks of it, the item shipped on the 30th so by them that means another 3 weeks. So 5 weeks in total from purchase when the item could have been here by now.

The only thing that has softened the blow is that it's Huffer (and Perceptor):lol ! But had this been a 'must have' character or one I'd been particularly looking forward to....I'd have been livid. I'll continue using them because the savings are huge but when and if the savings are negligible, I'll use Omegalock, I'm happy to pay more for quality service.

I still haven't even been asked for the rest of my balance. I don't think I'll get mine for another month. Yet everyone who ordered from the states is already getting theirs. I pre-ordered when they first went up.

Fanstoys ships to the U.S. first and then to Chinese retailers. There is usually a three to two week period between them, this is just the way Fanstoys does business.

Unfortunately with Chinese New Year thrown in the mix, a lot of Chinese retailers did not get their stock in time to ship them out.

I'm not sure this ALT would sell well. I never even knew this was a thing.
