I highly recommend the XTB ones if you feel that way.

Looks like we now know that the chest plate will just be attached by clip or friction as you can see one on the table in the background; unless thats a broken figure already.

100% 3 of 4 down with FT Roadking. This has been a dream of mine since 1986. And so has a MP Astrotrain!

The train looks good except for the back thrusters and the "shuttle mode" doesn't look good at all. But That's the look FT was going for, so it's understandable.

That’s how he looked in the cartoon, and personally that’s what I wanted. I get how some might want fully realistic vehicles, but I’m fine with cartoon accurate.

I guess I'm weird, but while most of the time I prefer more realistic alt modes there are a few exceptions where I prefer something more like the cartoon. Astrotrain's uncircumsized shuttle mode, Blitzwing's weird biplane jet, and a chibi Cliffjumper that in no way looks like a Porsche are some of those exceptions.

If I wanted super realistic vehicles I'd just buy models. I want the transformers to have decent alt modes, but I prefer better bot modes to realistic alt modes.

With a few exceptions like Dinobots I definitely prefer sacrifices to the alt mode over sacrifices to the robot mode. But at the same time, I'm not a Sunbow purist. I think the cartoon was poorly animated 90% of the time, and I prefer to think of MP toys as the real robot the cartoon was trying to animate (like an MG or PG Gundam model kit vs the animation on the original Gundam show). And while I expect some level of cartoon accuracy I don't mind a little extra detail you might get from using realistic alt mode parts to make the robot instead of making the alt mode a shell that tucks away in a backpack to reveal a super cartoony robot made of fake parts.

It never fails to amaze me that people would still come in to FT threads and act surprised that FT is making G1 stuff.

I get what you're saying. And I agree with it. I've been really happy with FT and their ability to give me exactly what I want in MP bots. I think Thomas looks like exactly what I want in an MP Astrotrain. To me FT keeps hitting all of their bots out of the park.

My perfect version of the G1 characters are a realistic alt-mode with a toon inspired look for the robot mode. FT was doing that with their Blitzwing.

When mp3 came out, I always thought it would be amazing to see a triple-changer that had booth vehicle modes be accurately done while still maintaining a pretty accurate robot mode. This AT doesn't do that, but I still love it.

i like the train having the shuttle thrusters because he actually used those in the show, the thing he'd do where he would fire up the rocket thrusters in train mode to pick up speed then switch to shuttle mode and fly off was cool as hell.

Playability is important to me, so FT had been kind of hit-or-miss for. Thomas definitely looks like what I want, I just hope the engineering is more Spoiler and less Rouge.
