Yeah, that is true. I have Lupus and Dracula and find I can really overlook their flatter surfaces because in hand, it's more of a package enjoyed all together, and the actual playability/poseability/presence can help make you overlook all that.
Even a sparkly sheen in the grey plastic could do wonders to alleviate this if it happened to exist here.

 

That pic with the stunticons makes astrotrain look a little smaller than I'd hoped. Hopefully it's jist a bad angle. Was hoping for roughly RK size

This thing looks great. Hope the qc is good without any easily breaking parts. Jabber has me gun shy about preordering ft figures, and i badly want this to be as amazing as it looks.

That's on the Stunticons being overly tall. Astrotrain is right-sized.

 

For sure. Looking at the original pic where AT is being held it looks about the perfect size.

 

Not going to begrudge anyone their hangups; Primus knows I've had my share of deal breakers on other figures that didn't seem to bother other people. But Thomas looks exactly how I expect Astrotrain to, and FT would really have to screw something up if the materials aren't better than Fancy Cell's. As long as the engineering isn't too bad I'm in.

I think this thing looks great. But personally, the grey colour scheme - even though cartoon accurate - is really dull and boring to me. I don't mean to try and kill other people's buzz, but that's just how it is to me. I'm really hoping for a repaint in the US/UK toy colours (below). I know some people are interested in a black and white repaint too, and each to their own opinion I say. But again, personally I think that will look bland as fuck as well. I would much rather see this awesome colour scheme on my shelf (below) - so much more life and nostalgia feels to it than a monochrome black and white version.

 

The Stunticon cars are way too big. Tis why I’m skipping em. Thomas looks friggin stunning. Hoping we get multiple colour versions of him. What a time to be alive.

Hollywood and Viper are in the names list for dalianjj's first post for the Aerialbot thread. Most likely Hollywood is Slingshot and Viper is Fireflight. I don't keep the pictures like I used to so I cannot remember where I saw them or if I am partially going off a conversation dalianjj had with someone when he confirmed them when we saw the prototypes for Smokey and Bandit when they were revealed next to Roadking. This was around the time the renders for all of them were released for the combiners.

 

They've captured his face so perfectly; my fave FT sculpt since Phoenix.
