I can live without Thomas if price is too high. To be honest, I still think it's kind of small for my MP collection. I wish I can get a Astrotrain similar size as dx9 Blitzwing. Somehow in my mind, Astrotrain should be a big guy, even in the movie sometime it's just as tall as StarScream.

I totally agree with you about the size. However, I don't see Fans Toys upsizing this nor do I see another company come out with a bigger size with the paint quality as this. I am still waiting for DX9 to re-release their Blitzwing with PREMIUM PAINT (if ever) and that will be my big brute representation for Blitzwing.

DX9 just re-issued the Blitzwing last month, and DX9 Astrotrain is coming right now. So "Blitzwing with PREMIUM PAINT" might have to wait for a while.
Plus this re-issued Blitzwing seems having more QC issues than before, I read this both online and from personal experience -- mine version is missing a back panel which I'm following up with ShowZ now.

I believe it was $220 at release. Not sure if it was less on some crazy early pre-order.

I believe we went for $210 which sounds perfectly reasonable for a triple changer.

It was $220. It is probably my favorite figure of 2020; if it didn't have the knee issues (I was lucky and mine didn't have it), I'd say it's one of the all-time greatest. I think it's easily worth $270 (...assuming the knees are fine, or you can get a fix for them).

Robot Kingdom still has the original listing up for $179.90, so the original retail price from the Non-Us stores was somewhere around there.

    I'm jealous. Lol.

No set MSRP so who knows what the "best deal" was but you both got a steal by 2021 standards.

Personally, I wouldn't wait at this price ($270?). Best you'll get before a reissue IMO. Maybe TF prices will have gone down if astrotrain ever gets a rerun. Impossible to say.

I didn't get it for $220, I just remember that was the price from ToyDojo at the time. And I remember thinking "dang, they upped from $180 to $200 on Galvatron metallic, now they want $220? Pass." Ended up paying the late tax recently (more than the current Show-Z sale price) after not really seeing anything for under $300. Still haven't opened it TBH, haven't decided if I am going to keep it.

Note that is your make leg ratchet adjustment, you can straighten that double knee hinge to make him a little taller, rather than stout like the G1 toy.

Doubt it, once the genie is out of the bottle, I doubt if they will go down. Though I would happily start buying more for my collection. At this price point, maybe 1 figure per year... maybe.
Hasbro has been hitting a home run with their Studio Series considering the price... guys please don't start flame war/trolling on this comment.

I think he is an ok size but still too small for what he should be. Standing perfectly straight, he is still shorter than KFC Ditka with his legs bent and apart making him a little shorter. Starscream is also a figure that has been continuously made too short imo as someone compared the two. Blitzwing and Astrotrain should be a hair taller than Megatron/Galvatron while Starscream a hair shorter, not a head and a half like they always make the seekers. Starscream in the toon was damn near eye to eye with Megatron and when he looked shorter was only when standing offset or when Megatron was raising up on him putting him in place.

Ultimately I'd like to see someone OS Thomas a little to put him in a proper triple changer scale rather than seeing fanstoys Berserk come out giving him an even counterpart because they'd still be too short for the MP line. I know no one will KO a fanstoys product though. Also, I'm hoping the Deformation Space Starscream is taller to correct that, but with it directly competing with MP-52 it will probably be the same seeker height:rolleyes: . ShowZ has both Starscreams at 9.84" but I'm hoping that was just guessing.

Congrats to who got the $270 Thomas' from ShowZ! Great price!

It's a reissue? Have they fixed the problems this figure has?
