Don't reissue pre-orders tend to go for a much steeper price than the very first pre-isue listing? I expect any re-issue will be up for pre-order at a price that's close to what the current "in-stock" price is.

 

No, it depends on when the reissue is done. If a reissue of FT-44 was done today, it would probably be more or less the same price as the original, as FT raised their prices last year, but not this year.

The price for the original Insecticons PO in China was more or less 1200 Yuan, and now, it's 1700 Yuan, which is an increase of 500 Yuan or 77 USD, or 26 USD for each. This is in line with the FT price increase of last year (and also, as a reminder, the Insecticons original release was several years ago).

 

The ebay seller has updated a tracking code for the supposed thomas and sheridan I ordered, obviously it'd not showing anything yet but that's usually normal for the first couple of days. I'm half expecting to be sent a box in a box or something  

 

The usual stuff is a letter with legos or parts.

Actually you might not get a refund. If the seller sends it to a different address and it shows as having been delivered, you might be in a pinch.

It happened to me. Here's a tip: do not file Item Not Received claim. Instead complain that Seller sent a different item.

That seller has an account since 2019, only has 1 feedback, 4 items listed, and shows 6 have been sold. Intriguing!   

 

Surely 6 people who then had to go thru eBay/PP to get their money back. Not worth the trouble for 35 bucks IMO

 

So I ordered one of the $220 ones from this listing on Saturday (same seller @Oryan Pax posted). It has allegedly shipped -- have a tracking number, departed facility, etc. But it's kinda weird that the seller still has an unspecified amount of stock somehow lo these many days later given that price point.

Then a few days later I spotted this one: Fans Toys FT-44 Thomas IN STOCK NEW Transformation Astrotrain MISB | eBay -- Possibly same seller as @soundwaveprime1 has up there, though now selling for $60.

Combined with the other guy selling Thomas at $219 that @Captain Sideways posted, I'm starting to wonder if FansToys got KOed or something. Like, I suppose it's possible that the demand just dried up at the more drastic markups we've been seeing -- but it's kinda weird how Available this guy suddenly is.

Incidentally, I also ordered FT Jabber for $125 from yet another Chinese seller the other day. (One with very solid-looking feedback.) Which is also a lot lower than I've seen it for in quite a while. That listing is at least sold out though.

 

$220 USD ones have a chance to be real, but 99.9% sure the $30/$60, you'll end up getting Lego or a Legends Astrotrain instead...

 

Exactly my thoughts. $220 is outside the norm but not totally insane. On the other hand... $60... might as well start writing your claim now do that you can have it ready for submission once the item is marked delivered. Some people must just enjoy pain.  

 

If $220 ends up being legit I will admit, that will sting a bit cuz I've only had mine for a week now and had finally caved at $316 thinking why not, seems just over $300 is the price now. Not to mention my copy being messed up and now I'm waiting on parts. It is b.s. on retailers parts because wasn't $220 the list price after release and after this price hike on figures? If these prices do start to drop back to what list is supposed to be then it will be another example of a Fanstoys figure that people go apeshit for which of course manufacturers and retailers see and become just as guilty at the scalper game. Personally I dont think any of FTs figures should ever price out above $220.
