Christ. I wonder if they sold the initial pre-orders to each other.
Looks like they have a total of 55 units available across all their sellers.
My guess is that they waited til imminent release (supposedly October) to list their stock because they knew pre-orders would sell out from other places. $349 is a crazy asking price though and it sucks that companies are doing this.
Oh and as far as the short thighs... Isn't that cartoon accurate?
Not that I'm a fan of that....
Out this month then?
Most people wouldn't get the reference.
I can only speak for myself. I have heard of Thomas the train; so I recognized the reference, but have no idea who any of the other characters are from that franchise.
next month but i bet at the start
Lucky you. My kid would watch that show whenever she could. Really gets on your nerves after a while. Love the reference though.
Let's hope so. I need that thing on my shelf!
I missed the boat on the pre-order, and have never owned a fanstoys product, so I'm in the dark on their general availability. I've noticed this year their stuff has been selling out rather quickly.
Has it always been like this? Are they just doing smaller production runs this year?
He looks fantastic, and is the best looking representation I've seen, but I'm always weary of purchasing something without a review. I'm hopeful they will do multiple runs, but really have no clue based on not really paying attention to fanstoys.
Does anyone have any insight?
Spacechoochoo still coming October or did they change the release date?
Terry told me Smokey is due October.
I'm still wondering who is coming this month.
Gee, I wonder why sellers would be motivated to increase the price by 50%. Couldn’t have anything to do with the panic we create.
Unfortunately, the alt modes are mixed up between Astrotrain and Blitzwing. If one had alt modes as tank and train, then Thomas would be absolutely perfect. (The other would then be plane and shuttle, and I'm not sure what a good name for him would be. So let's go for Jimbo until something better comes along.)
Well I started collecting only 3 years ago, so I can't tell you how it was before that but it has never been this crazy in the past 3 years. We don't really know it's because of lower production runs or scalpers but I assume because of the latter. Reissues are becoming more frequent I feel, so there is still a chance of getting him without paying the late tax. Just have patience and keep following these forums and you'll be fine eventually I guess. When I comes to buying FT products (wich I mainly do) there is no other company wich nails the G1 cartoon esthetic in my opinion. They are beautiful display figures and their pose ability is great for the most part. Long story short, if you want one PO it asap, you probably won't be disappointed. Otherwise you can always get rid of it and won't take a loss because of the hype train FT is currently riding on. Hope this helps.
That's a recent development. This will no doubt have another production run.
Or release more units from the initial production run. This is Fanstoys that we are talking about.
Some have the gall to double.
I collect transformers since 2005 roughly, and no, I've never seen what happens now before, at least not in such an extreme way. I too have missed this train, pun intended. It is a bubble that will explode sooner or later and we will eat the extra cost with potatoes (as they say in my country). I remember when I bought the MP04 and MP05, at that time they were already very expensive, now they have plummeted and almost no one wants them, although I still see my mp04 and it has something special. The pity is that when we die, these figures will be worth nothing, because they only interest a certain generation. The worst thing about now is that they force you to buy without even seeing a sad review, risking even more and eating the mistakes again. It's really sad. I think it all started with insecticons and dinobots ... then some other company will come up with better ones and yours will plummet. Also, if FT wants to release versions 2.0, it bothers all the clients they had before and paid a lot for their figures
Should have named him Ozzy if you ask me.
What are the chances of more stock after release?
Someone mentioned that a reissue is already planned for Astrotrain via TF-Express.
