About a month ago I did a comparison between FT and KFC/XTB announced figures. If you don't count the "all combiners" which is more long term they have a very similar number of outstanding projects, and that is with KFC mostly silent right now. It's just more of the KFC/XTB figures are aged and not discussed much. We simply don't see the "where's Abaddon?" questions like we do Berserk for example.

Agreed! As a child, I had my G1 Menasor like this (and still do) -

    Menasor_1.jpg

The legs look much better (and the knees bend the right way!). The big grey boxes are a shame.

XTB reinvigorated their Facebook/social media presence lately and have promised to be more on the ball. From a product perspective most 3P companies have scaled back reveals of anything beyond perhaps the next several, both to manage expectations and to not over promise. I have every confidence that FT will deliver on their '20-'21 roster, but other companies seem to be playing their cards much closer these days XTB included.

Fancy Cell was made by a small team that normally worked on KO toys in China. It wasn't really well received anywhere. Very flimsy. Someone could of OSKO'd it, but that would just make it's issues bigger too.

Fancy Cell Transportation Captain is what was discussed... not MP scaled.

    I think so too.

I've heard that some of their resources have moved towards other toy projects under different names. If they are re-committed, then I look forward to more products from them!

Makes sense. At least he kinda looks the part, easily being not one of the worst pieces i've ever seen. Though definitely still comes up short, height-wise.

That was my mistake, got sidetracked by all the TFM Menasor talk.

Even using the Studio Ox model, it is simply not possible to have the cars become the whole limb and reach a 50 cm combined height without each Stunticon being approximately Alternator size in car mode.

Would the collector's market give up the Stunticons limbs scaling to the Autobot cars for this?

Why are we discussing toon-based scaling when the goal is explicitly to NOT base yet another Menasor on the toon?

An 99% of scale discussion is for bot mode, why we we trying to scale the alt-modes to anything at all? The MP cars already don't scale to each other all that well, and the Stunticons have never even scaled to each other. (Dragstrip is always like twice the size he should be).

I'm totally fine with MP Stunticon combiner limbs being whatever scale in alt-mode is needed, to have a not-goofy-looking-like-the-toon combined form.

Current 3rd party combines are usually 18-24 inches tall. Menasor's limbs are mostly unaltered cars. The size of Menasor's robot mode is directly linked to the sized of the Stunticons as cars. Even in the G1 toy.

If this were upscaled to the size of an MP Seeker, maybe with some better hardware in the joints, then I wouldn't be spending $220 on Thomas.

Hell, if someone just redid the Captain so he's a bit bigger with better materials I wouldn't be spending $220 on Thomas. It's a safe bet that Thomas will have a ton of paint, a ton of diecast, but he'll be a pain in the ass to transform and/or have limited articulation in spots, and I really won't like him. But, as with Cyclonus and the Aerialbots there won't really be a better alternative.

It started as "companies focusing on different parts of the fanbase/market, mainly toon vs toy aesthetic" and quickly spiraled from there... (Astrotrain is so dang toy-accurate in the show, asides from coloring, he doesn't really have that issue...)

There really are so many good legends options now. It's far too late for me to abandon the MP ship and jump on the legends train. I really do want that Astrotrain though. I'll just have to wait for Thomas instead.

Just arrange your shelf so it looks like the legends Astrotrain is small because he's far in the distance. Boom, done, problem solved.
