I'm not sure what to say about this. On the face of it you're talking about a tiny bar used as a heel spur on a minibot. A figure that's pretty small already. If you're really 'worried' you'll poke your eye out you've got bigger issues that need addressing lol

I don't see Arkose as a stand in at all. Thing is extremely well articulated and stable, nice weight for its size and a simple transformation. FT has to knock this out of the park.

 

The head looks a little small and the legs look a little long...

 

I really like the proportions of Brawny. Squat and thick, like a short guy who became a big bodybuilder to compensate. I don't want one who's all legs.
The Beachcomber looks nice though.

 

Poking my eye out was a joke.  

And while it may be a small detail, it's still one that bothers me enough to hold off on a purchase I may regret later. I handle my figures regularly so small details tend to stick out a lot more than if I had them just displayed. I also didn't mean to imply the figure's only value was as a stand in. Someone suggested I do that but I wouldn't buy it for the soul purpose of being a stand in. If I get Arkose, it'll be because I've decided he's my definitive Beachcomber. I'm just not sure he is, hence my wait to see what FT is offering.

I know some might see it as being overly nitpicky, but I do it to ever figure I buy. Haven't been disappointed yet, either.  

 

Does either FT Brawn or Beachcomber have their own thread yet? I can't find either.

Anyway, I hope these blurry silhouettes aren't the exact final proportions, I am hoping that Brawn has a bit more heft to his upper body. Beachcomber doesn't look like an improvement to Arkose visually from just this but i'm guessing the transformation will be a bit more robust.

 

They should have seperate threads. It's not like they are repaints/remolds of each other like XTB's Cliffjumper + Hubcap.

 

I bought brawny and the wheel fell off out of the box. The hot glue dried up or something ( You could see it there under the wheel). I pressed it back on and its been holding ever since, but...

 

Darnit!!! I was going to stop after season 1, but this looks ok to me.

They both look great but the knees look horrible !! Especially on Brawn. Beachcomber's don't look as empty when opened up !!

Brawn I think is so hard to get that gnome looking physique like he had in the animation. Especially coz he had a huge head , small arms and chunky legs.

Overall probably the best looking MPIsh Brawn so far.

 

I'm amazed how clean Beachcomber is on the back. I had expected every version of him to have the roll cage showing clearly

@dalianjj will the roll cage be diecast? Just curious due to how thin and frail it looks on the prototype combined with a personal history of it breaking on my G1 and G2 copies as a kid. Probably won't be an issue these days but still scares me

 

I am feeling these guys. Beachcomber is perfect, Brawn needs a new facesculpt, but otherwise is top notch. Really hope his feet come together a bit better, he looks like he has Alf toes right now.

If we can trust the faded image from July (admittedly dangerous to do so) it looks like it is meant to line up right. I'm going to assume (another dangerous idea, assuming anything) it is just a prototype issue.

 

Brawn's knees can't be unseen. The head to torso width ratios are very minibot, but the helmet seems a touch smaller than I expected.

Beachy looks great. I mean, really, really great.

Both of the face sculpts look good too, which is promising for the future.

 

Brawn looks like he will be larger than Brawny

 

Hope Beachcomber is better quality than XTB's offering.

There's something definitely off about Brawn though; maybe his head isn't wide enough.

I agree. The proportions seem off. Not squat and bulky. Kinda like their Seaspray to a new level. He looks too heroic in the wrong way.

 

Beachcomber is looking real nice, I especially hope for a G2 deco. But there’s one thing I’m really hoping I’d considered at some point. Where are the animals? X-Transbots May have not made a fun BC but their accessories were plentiful. All the birds could be placed on making some great display options. This looks like it’s lacking some. And the animals in this one look like they’re from a different thing or are fake.
