    Wow, that back-shot, superb!!

I love my Arkose, QC and terrible transformation aside: on the shelf he looks amazing.

I was going to get a second Arkose, however I'll get this guy now instead.

I can never have enough Beachcombers and honestly, I don't know how they could improve Dunerider. He looks amazing.

Agh! I just noticed that he has a single crotch flap that hangs down over his hip joints. If you pose him with a leg forward, you'll have to lift his whole crotch plate. I won't pretend I had any intention of getting him, since I already have Arkose, but this would be an instant dealbreaker for me.

I prefer real world alt. modes too, so as pretty as the bot mode is on this, I don't think it's that big an improvement over Arkose... except for the back... that is really clean and well done... but, I'm not prepared to sacrifice an entire mode for a hidden rollcage. Also, and it might be just my opinion, but Dunerider looks a little too "swol" (is the term I believe the kids use these days) to me. He looks a bit barrel-chested, and that seems wrong for this character.

I'm probably in for their Brawn, despite the more toy inspired alt. mode, as the bot is leaps and bounds over Brawny, but as good as their Warpath looks, Wardog has the bulk and size I always imagined that character should have.

I love the look of this Beachcomber. I think it is close to perfect. If it comes with a premium finish, it may attain perfection (in my opinion).

    GODDAMMIT! WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY.

I was very much in for this but single piece crotch flaps (nappy flaps?) are one of my personal hates. They need to go and crawl into a dark pit and never, ever come back.
He's not going to be dynamically posed for 95% of his shelf life but still, knowing its there will eat at me.

    Yes, thanks for that, Cheem.

Hmm, Beachcomber is a favorite of mine but the alt mode is a lot too much toon for my liking. Probably still buy it though.

This, warpath and Brawn.....I'm in for the entire set.

FT's transformations are some of my least favorite, but this is looking good enough to contemplate a purchase. And it appears that some of the lessons learned from Arkose (i.e., the cumbersome back-pack to name just one) have been applied into this version, which is always good to see.

Not certain I will be replacing my Arkose, but he looks great. Now that's how a backpack is done!

It looks like this will have rubber tires unlike Arkose. Take note XTB.

Rubber breaks down rather quickly and I'd rather not have my figures stored away with rotting rubber parts. I'm not saying rubber tires and the authenticity that they impart isn't cool, but it's important to remember what happens to rubber over time.

Mine has the wrist guards but does he have the spikes? I'm at work so can't check it and I just don't recall those.

    How about "HEFT"? :D

I've never ever had this issue with rubber tires and here I live gets super hot & humid during the summer season. As long as the material is quality it shouldn't be a problem. I say let them bring it on.

Yep. They're very small, but Arkose has them.
XTB was very toon accurate (bot mode) before toon accuracy became the new Bible LOL

See that's the thing, MPs are suppose to have toon bot looks but real world alt mode. You can't make your Aerialbots and Stunticons real world vehicles and then toon up the minibot's alt modes.

It would be cool if FT includes an additional weapon, the long machine gun like Arkose.

Well, that's where the water gets muddy, isn't it? Masterpiece being now, "Animasterpiece" things are not what they used to be. I think that an accepted compromise for those of us missing the MP10 era was to have animation bots and real world alts where applicable.

Buuut the line, she is a'changing [though not for the better] and now it's toon or die.

The caveat here being that FT has done a pretty good job of capturing the likeness of the G1 toy's alt mode.

It was just a really simplified design to start with.

Every damn company out there needs to get away from rubber tires though. They do nothing to add to the figure in any way.
