The Hoist retool is true. Dalianjj has stated that they will be doing it. In addition, he has also stated that they will do all G1 characters so retools are inevitable. I hope they can finally do justice to Huffer and Pipes.

When did he state that they will do all G1 characters? I hope this ends up being true.

I really really hope this happens. I know a lot of people don’t like the pace of their release schedule but for me it’s just fine. I don’t mind waiting awhile to pick up figures and it would be less of a strain on my wallet if I was just picking up one 3rd party companiy

In that case, I'll dare to dream for FT-Astrotrain by 2020 ....

You speak truth. However, for me though I'd entertain the idea of upgrading for a more fun transformation. Arkose looks the part on a shelf, but boy is he a bear to transform.

Now I'm conflicted over which Beachcomber I want. I was going to get Arkose, but I like the look of this too.

Since smaller figures like Seaspray,Bumblebee and others tend to take less time to design than larger figures I figure 16 to 18 months from first reveal,so maybe March 2020,but don't quote me on that.

    Agreed.

Just last night I was looking through my MP collection and concluded that Windcharger is the MP most in need of an upgrade. Boost has a decent head sculpt but everything else about him looks/feels cheap.

Arkose is a good fill in bot. I had it but what bothered me the most, outside of the common complaints of transforming it, is the roll bar part that becomes part of the heel to keep him up right. They stick out pretty far for my liking. The other issue, which I don't think has been confirmed corrected on the reissue, is the feet are a different color than the rest of the figure.

FT's looks to be so far with the limited clear picture we have to be very good looking but who knows. I felt let down with Seaspray but with Warpath, they might of turned that around for me with hopes they'll knock Brawn and other minibots out of the park.

Keep in mind, these maybe out 8-12 months, as FT has shown a lot of product but hasn't shown they can pump out half that in one year. That's why if you like Beachcomber enough, you may appreciate Arkose in the mean time to have a better decision if its worth keeping it or selling it for FT's.

Of course I will be getting these. I like Arkose, but my copy has poor QC. And Brawny is great, but the transformation isn’t fun.

'Comber IS my favorite minibot, so that's part of why I'm being very picky and indecisive over him and would prefer not to do a stand in.

That roll bar heel spur is the only reason I've held out so long on buying Arkose. It drives me batty in pictures and I've been worrying over what it'd do to me in person. Probably poke an eye out. Even saying that, though, I do like the rest of the look it has going. Just not sure I like it enough not to wait to see more from FT's version of the figure. I like the clean look that blurry reveal hints at. At the very least, I'm willing to wait to see it in color before deciding which way or the other. I'm sure my wallet will appreciate the wait, too. :lol

I know dalianjj has said this, but I continue to view it as aspirational at best. If they do all G1 characters, great, but at the rate they are going I consider it unrealistic to base any purchasing considerations on that possibility. To me it's a statement that holds no real meaning, other than as a mantra to be repeated until someday it is fulfilled, like some weird nerd prophecy.

I just hope these minibots are more challenging to transform than Rouge.

I'm certain they'll do them all. It's just a matter of when. Folks swore up and down that Hoodlum was a scrapped projects because there were no updates for such a long time but here we are. Not to mention, FT recently revealed/teased 3 new minibots.
