I'd rather they do like they did in 2013-2017.....plenty of die cast without any paint chipping/scratching.

I'm with you entirely on that. Hell, I was about ready to stop collecting MP and start collecting legends until things like MakeToys' Dirge and FT's Astrotrain pulled me back in.

I really wish FT would cut down on the die cast (as I've gone on about already, admittedly.) I feel like their figures would essentially have it all if they were to cut back, at least for my desires. They'd have those great-looking sculpts that keep roping me in despite my complaints about the die cast, and they'd be more fiddlable/playable. (The fact that I'm still buying a lot of their stuff despite the die cast shows just how imperative it is that they change, huh?)

I mean no offense to those who do think this, but I just don't feel the "heft=quality" thing. I think piles of die cast make a figure feel less good in-hand. Sovereign would be a prime example. It's a beautiful statue. I see the figure, I want to pick it up and pose it, and then I'm often putting it back down before long. It's unpleasant in my hands. Parts of it are dense metal, other parts of it are much lighter plastic, and the thing as a whole just feels clunky to me.

I am aware that being fun to mess with isn't a priority with FT figures, but hey, I can dream.

Looks pretty good! Never expected to replace Arkose but might as well, eventually. Looking forward more to Thomas, Chomp, Berserk though. :)

In my humble opinion, the alt-mode leaves much to be desired. Maybe I'd feel differently if I saw it in person. The roll cage kind of looks like a bent up paperclip. The bot is pretty good. Arkose is still in the lead for me.

Looks on par with arkose, which means it has to be better due to transformation. Interesting they chose to put the roll bar inside his chest.

Looks good. What is the optional diecast hood piece for?

And unlike Arkose (or any other XTB minibot car for that matter) this'll have rubber tires, transparent plastic headlights and chrome rims. FT is really showing them how to do MP minibots.

True, though based on how rubber tires wear/dry out, and how they tend to stick to or leave marks on acrylic, I'm not a huge fan of them.

I'm a big fan of them, as you can tell. Lol.
I've never had any of those issues.

    Thank goodness FT uses them.

It's for the autobot logo on his alt mode hood that's not supposed to show up on his legs. It's a partsformed piece, but I'm not sure why it looks like it's 2 separate parts for each leg. It'd only be used in alt mode so it could've just been 1 part.

I've got Arkose but I think I'll replace him with this one since I'm getting MP45. Arkose if I remember scales to MP21 so any minibot that's MP21's height will look too short. ON a tangent, when it comes to S2 minibots, I don't think we have an official scale reference. I've seen scale charts where Beachcomber is either Bumblebee or Brawn's height. Like everything else, it's up to us to care or not where he fits on the scale. I don't really care, but I know I don't want him to be shorter than BUmblebee.

Oh for sure. If I hadn't experienced those things, I'd be a big fan of them too. It is a nice touch.

I guess you confused with rubber and PVC. they look and feel similar.

Looks nice, apart from the one piece hip flap.

Seriously are we not beyond those now, they destroy the sculpt of the figure as soon as you try and put them in any kind of dynamic pose. One of my pet peeves.

Bot mode looks great! I like the standing look in the neutral pose, without the unnatural pelvis tilt.

It is probably rubber that dries out and PVC that leaves marks and sticks to acrylic. For example, I have a Takara MP-10 trailer with tires that look to be drying out. And Generation Toy J4ZZ's tires like to stick/leave marks on acrylic. Do you have insight to share about various tire materials?
