I wonder if they're going to rotocast any of this. They simply can't make a 42" figure as proportionally dense as the 22" / 11 lb Terminus Giganticus. Using the cube-square law, it would weight over 75 pounds. They have to lighten the load -- and the cost. Less ABS/diecast, more vinyl and air.

It's like how a creature the size of Godzilla could not be supported by its skeleton on land. A Fort Max built like a typical FT figure would have major stability problems. It has to be almost feather-light at that size.

Yeah I feel this. I already have Takara Fort Max posed with my MP Headmasters -- it works well enough. But if you want Cerebros to lead the crew, it means Fort Max needs to be WAY bigger. And if I'm gonna get Cerebros (which I WILL) I don't see myself NOT getting Max too. The good thing is, I'll have time to think about how to completely redo my display space, since I will OBVIOUSLY need to in order to fit this absolute fucking monster.

 

if you remove the permanent shelf in the middle you’ll lose a lot of structural integrity...better replace it higher or lower in the unit and also reinforce the 4 corners of the unit with some metal brackets to compensate.

 

Indeed, though now that I look at it I realize he's probably going to be too deep for this in the first place. The TR one is 7" deep, and this is only 10.5" deep. I think I'll have to do something more custom.

Now here's hoping he doesn't have a crazy giant backpack.

I said it before, I'll say it again. I'm convinced Mp Cerebros is the key here. Fort Max is what he is based off that. Why bother with an MP release if a major part looks off?

Every time I see this I just laugh! I mean, I don't want it! I don't really have any connection to the character, but it's definitely just awesome. The sheer MADNESS that FT is willing to I just applaud them.   I Hope it's a knockout success for them!

 

I agree with one exception. Titans Return version is... not great. It's easily the worst figure I've allowed into my main collection, and that only for lack of alternatives. It's a partial retool of a figure with a completely different transformation and that affects nearly every aspect of it. Even with another $100+ worth of third party addons it still only looks roughly like Fort Max. It can't pull off city mode due to the leg transformation, and many of its play features are half-implemented or redundant. I'll be polite and stop there.

I bought it because I already had Metroplex, and at that point I knew the other two were coming.

That doesn't mean I like it. I don't. But right now it's the only real option. And while I absolutely will buy the 45" one, I also wholeheartedly support the idea of another company doing a smaller version. 36" is probably the max for most people, and even a better designed 22" one would likely sell well.

I'm gonna have to knock out a closet to make space for this thing. Not many people have that luxury.

 

I swear I am really disliking the instant "Sold Out" in the same pic as "New". I was at work wondering when preorders will start- only to get home to another Showz Sold Out.
