They should just pull ratchets out of a ratchet wrench. Press a button on the joint to release it. Maybe just stick to using diecast in the feet.

I have never been so excited to watch a thread for a product I'm not going to purchase. This thing is so flabbergasting, I really want to see them pull it off successfully.

As much as I've been laying doubt, I do want to see how the attempt goes. Not trying to be a wet blanket, but trying to lay out reasonable expectations. There's virtually nothing out there on the market like this to compare with, and FT doesn't have the greatest track record with innovation.

It’s good to lay out our concerns so that hopefully someone in the right place sees them. Last thing we need is some 4ft. heavy diecast robot hurting or killing some toddler should the ratchets give out. A headline like that could end this 3rd party party quickly.

I don’t care about them collapsing on Dpuff but on some innocent person, that would be terrible!

It's a perfect fairy tale to keep kids from getting too greedy with Transformers. "Do you wanna end up like Old man Puff?! Trapped for days under 5 Fort Maxes? Because they were in city mode it took days to carefully remove all the expensive MP transformers posed on top of him. It looked so awesome though!

 

Transformers don't collapse on Dpuff. They combine with him to form Puffmaster!!!

The waffle-formers design that you speak of is a very good solution to the bigger bots weight issues.

 

Ya know, with DX9 folding Fanstoys could have worse ideas than to snatch up their designs to help with this. They did well with their Menasor and Omega.

 

Why would they do that when they already merged with takara? 

 

I didn't expect class warfare when coming onto TFW tonight but here we are.


But the waffle design would for sure help something of this size, but the likelihood of that happening are slim to none.

I have no idea if DX9's Menasor's ratchets could hold the FT bots weight, but considering it's by far the best of the 2 currently out and the best MP intended Omega, so it definitely would help.

 

But the trade off is it looks like pure shit. Waffle shaped
