One concern. Price point will be through the roof, probably over usd$1000. I will be dead.
Any pre orders from china left?
That's true. But 4ft transforming robots coming from a company famous in its niche for diecast don't. Everyone thought they'd use different materials for their combiner limbs but they didn't.
We're literally heading into the unknown here but ppl will speculate.
【Pre-order】FansToys FT-40A Hannibal Cerebros Fortress Maximus’s Head
I am cautiously optimistic this project will get finished someday, but if it doesn’t, and all we get is Cerebros…I will be ok with that too. I just love the majority of the design choices this company makes and will support them with my wallet to the extent possible. Honestly, I could see a future state where I am primarily an FT collector. Right now there is just enough coming from the other 3P companies to keep me interested in them, but FT is my bread and butter.
I like that FT takes big swings, even if it means they don’t always hit home runs. I want them to push the envelope and take a run at a massive Metroplex. I can’t even imagine my 6 year old self’s reaction if I was told that someday…decades from now…someone would come along and try to make a true masterpiece representation of a city bot.
Of course, all pockets have a bottom somewhere…so watch this thing come in at $3k…and I eat all of my words above
After spending $3k for this, words might be the only thing we will be able to afford to eat.
Bombusbee still has Cerebros available.
Sorry about all the weight mass stuff..let me just say however big this dude is i am 100% in..i hope ft comes through and sees this project to the end..my favorite quote when plans for this first came out..and i am paraphrasing but bsf said something like i when i get this thing 12 spartans run out and i have to fight them all to get it..im going to give it a go
You sir/m'am will be dead with a smile on your face
Lol my daughter is 4 ft tall..having her stand by the collection to measure shelving
It’s been done. Credit to @G.I.EDDIE.
I mean, that custom is a pretty good case study that this can be done.
I believe it was achieved with Constructor back in 2016. I know I've sat him on the edge of a table, so a toilet should be possible.
Unless the body is sold in two parts to lesson the blow for collectors, I don't see it happening. I think FT will go that route. They will need to, if it avoids having the product sent by mostly boat and the added costs sellers will eat because of its size and weight and then have pass to collectors.
However, FT needs to win me over on large projects like this, both city bots and combiners. I don't know why they try to stuff die cast in some of this stuff. Toyworld already proved you don't need it on combiners and other products showing why you shouldn't do it, especially where it makes no sense to. The posts about what that quality should looks like, is a concern for me already. OS didn't' exactly go well, based on what I read of those that had him and the issues they were having.
It would be nice if someone like DX9 could play in this court with FT. Without competition, FT is open to do whatever, when it comes to prices.
Baba is asking for a 150 dollars deposit, and people are paying left and right.
Apparently my love for Baba is conditional since I prefer to just pay the late tax on the head.
I put a pre order in with baba back in May. $2.00.
It's sir, and I make less than a fast food worker. I will be reborn twice only to die.
Where can I find more details of that? Awesome!
Looking at that, but knowing nothing about it, I'd guess if you wanted to buy that off the shelf you'd be looking at tens of thousands of dollars! The work put into that looks insane.
This is absolutely possible - what's in question is is it possible for a price that makes its mass production and retail feasible!
I liked FT a lot and they've made a few of my favorite figures. But, they are definitely cranking their prices up to 11 and the articulation on their figures now feels a little dated for MP style bots. I will still buy something from them but I'm not really into combiners so they lost my attention for a while. What I REALLY want is their take on an MP Magnus. As for Fort Max, I just can't make space for a 4' figure even if the price was reasonable and the build was solid.
