Fair point. You're comparing retailers for current inflated prices while I'm comparing FansToys re-issue/completion rip-off pricing. For context, Ages 3 And Up is typically only very slightly higher than the cheapest options. Can expect Showz and the usual cheapest stores to be $10-$20 cheaper

Just as a reminder, Dalianjj had in the past joked about asking the US stores why they would pay so high for shipping (in the case of Thomas, IIRC).

you nailed it. And we can be the two dudes excited about it.

though i will say that all available evidence points to xtb being better at making it combine. Ft never has to date, their omega wasn’t that stable, and obviously encountered problems on their first shots at these and the stunts which led to delays, so we may two dudes in even better shape in your scenario lol

dang this reminded me, imagine at this price if the thing still can’t stand well. I hadn’t even factored this in to bailing out. I wish everyone good luck with this, and hope the thing can at least hit the ft statue A stance.

@Fortynickel would just say that it's another kick in the nuts, and that's what the A stance is : "here, I am ready to be kicked again at you know where". By the time all FT combiners have been completed, some people would need prosthetics down there.

The bigger issue with their Omega was the hip joints snapping under the weight of the body, not just how wobbly it felt.

Regarding the team, it does feel a bit of a waste to hide their well made robots inside the combiner. I'm hoping someone does filler parts for them, at least for Menasor.

I'm again going to float my idea here.

Combiner team bots made to only change from bot to alt mode, no third mode. Each bot comes with a corresponding body part that is a dedicated gestalt piece. Buy the whole set and you get everything without having compromised individual bots or an unstable combined mode.

Alternatively, same situation where the combined mode pieces only transform into their appropriate alt modes.

At that point you may as well just buy a Threezero/Flame Toys style posable action figure of a combiner.

I think this is the best answer, whether the combiner is separately released or a 'build-a-figure'. Particularly for 'toon-accuracy' toylines, where it's often impossible to reconcile the different modes while maintaining accuracy. Super-stable, super-poseable, cartoon-accurate combiners with the individual members able to transform.

There's an argument for releasing triple-changers as two separate toys as well, I think, particularly for the likes of Broadside, if cartoon-accuracy is the end-goal...

I really think they'd do well.

Here's the cheaper solution: just wait for Newage's Superion!!!

Newage has caught my eye recently with their Dinobots...Shame their carbots are too short for my liking cos their baked paint finish is sweet.

That's a great ideia, I just think that's not a great FT idea.

I do not even want to know the outrageous price Flame Toys would charge for their Superion. People complain about $1,300,- in total Fanstoys Superion, get ready for them to charge north of $3,000,- for a 60cm tall figure.

Oh I'm sure it would be in the $2K range, Flame Toys prices are ridiculous. But damn would it be pretty. So pretty.

I don't think it is now, they've already committed to what we're getting. But I think they could have easily gone this route instead and I think it would have played to their strengths.

They would have been able to get better sculpts and articulation out of the Aerialbots, thrown in as much diecast as they wanted and not have to concern themselves with combined mode.

Then the combined mode would also have been able to be built without fussing about the weight of the individual bots and be sturdy as hell.

That's because Flams Toys are on a whole other level in comparison to 3P companies, including FT and MMC. There's just no comparison when it comes to sculp, engineering, and paint.
