MOQs, yup, that's what makes me think they have their own factory. Various figures are shelf warming while others have sold out on initial release rather quickly. Controlling each run with a specific amount would allow them to set the price based on units produced and let the customer base swallow it up.

No evidence of this, mind you, just tinfoil hat.

It may be a little bit more simple. Dalianjj himself has stated here in the past that FT sells every unit they manufacture. The real problem then is with the sellers. And although FT does monitor these problems, they are obviously adjusting their prices all the time (they did adjust the price for less, for example, when comparing the prices of the reissues of the Dibots - 300 USD, with prices for similar figures afterwards for 240), but they are also still selling everything they manufecture.

full set, including taxes, is nearly $2035 CAD. Glad I have the already released bots but going forward, I'll be out at these prices.

I’m feeling a bit relieved I have all three already. The bigger bonus is I’ve only paid for iceman, Maverick and goose were an in-law birthday present when they released. The hefty tag for the remaining two is a bit more easily digestible. I do feel the price hike is a bit much being nearly double what the original releases cost. I’m hoping the two remaining figures come before the reissues because we have been patiently waiting for an unreasonably long time to complete this set.

I missed out on several FT Stunticons and all of the FT Aerialbots when they were last issued a few years ago. Mostly due to a lack in belief that my economic situation would remain in the positive... and also because at the time, there were reasonable, more affordable options.

So yesterday, when I saw that all five were now available, I went right to "Add to Stack" mode.
I preordered Maverick and as I was about to preorder the others, I started doing the math.

    $250 Maverick
    $220 Goose
    $220 Iceman
    $220 Viper
$400 Jester (perhaps because the price is a joke?)

And then, while number-crunching... I thought about the additional totals for adding three Stunticon figures (that I don't currently have) because goddammit I'd have to have FansToys Bookends... right?!

So it's looking like I need to become very comfortable with FOMO, and accept these two as my Superion and Menasor...

    20230702_143023.jpg

As the song goes, "If you can't be with the one you love.. love the one you're with."

I was very happy with Zeta’s Superion at the time, but these days, I'd love a more cartoon-accurate entity, with limb-bots selling for about $100-$150 each and the torso with combining/partsforming accessories selling for about $300.00... but it would seem that with those type of prices, I'm probably living in the past.

On the flipside, if I preorder them all now, I have a year to come up with the $1300-$1400 for the complete set, plus the approximate $900 for the remaining Stunticons that I need to build another Menasor.

And that means I basically need to put any other figure or money-siphoning interest out of my mind for the next year or so.

    Or...

At Temple Hospital they used to pay well to be a medical guinea pig! My friend got a free physical, free inoculations, and a couple grand (early 2K money) to have his pinky toe chopped off and reattached!! I wonder if they still have that program?

They might pay extra if you let them keep the pinkie! Who needs it anyway! But yeah, the price is a lot more dramatic coming at it all at once versus already having most of them.

    Ahh, Stephen Stills. Great song.

Yeah FT's price increase for the Aerialbots limbs is pretty outlandish. Tough pill to swallow for anyone getting into it just now. I would say that with Zeta Superion you at least have one heck of a stable accurate combiner. The bot modes may not be FT but with that price differential it will be more than worth it.

And here's the catch! $1400 for Superion and yet we have no proof he will pose without falling. These are heavy figures and this is FT first combiner. I am sure they will do a good job. But the risk is high.

Adding my :2c:  here, but for me I went thru a tug of war with FT Aerialbots and Stunticons. Basically I sold them off and rebought them 3x back and forth. This time, it's permanent keeper.
To justify the cost of 2 Aerialbots and 1 Stunticon with the combiner parts, I'll be parting ways with my DX9 Menasor and Zeta Superion. Need to add the difference top of it to cover the cost sadly enough o_O o_O

Yes he does whether it's a deposit or the full monty. If you read his terms on preordering, it does state you can cancel a preorder. I like Terry's policy because he refunds your account versus giving you points. So perhaps email him for further clarification.

And honestly, they're still excellent choices for both of those characters.
